Northern Flickers live year-round in the Pacific Northwest\u2019s woodlands, forest edges, parks, and backyards.\u00a0 If you look close, you can see the red shafts of its tail feathers.\u00a0 While the Northern Flickers’ diet mainly consists of ants and insects, they do eat fruits like the Red Flowering Currant and seeds.\u00a0 They excavate their nests in dead or diseased trees.<\/p>\n
