I am a 37-year-old Tla’amin First Nations woman. I am a mother of 5 sons ages 14-22. I volunteer at Multicare’s Bridges, a Center for Grieving Children and work at the Tahoma Indian Center on Puyallup Reservation. I facilitate a Survivors of Suicide support group. My pursuit of higher education through the MPA Tribal Governance connects my desire to give back to my urban Indian community increasing my knowledge of how to make the greatest impact.  My goal is to create a program like the Indian center in Minneapolis or Vancouver, British Columbia that provides resources and support in health and welfare, social services, human rights, culture, education, and recreation.

Thank you! I am very honored to have been chosen for this scholarship.  It is very exciting to feel the support and recognition in my education endeavors.
