MPA faculty, current students, and alumni attended and presented at the Vine Deloria Jr. Indigenous Studies Symposium 2019 at Northwest Indian College, Lummi Nation site.

Presenting on a panel about Indigenous Research Methods were MPA alum Kayla Kuboyama (Native Hawaiian) and MPA faculty Amy Gould. Their research is about “Weaponizing Tradition: Threads of Resistance and Oppression”. Presenting on the same panel was MPA alum Brandon Morris (Lummi). His topic was about “Shaping Methodologies: Navigating Onto-Epistemological Landscapes”. It was wonderful to be a part of such an important event and see so many members of our MPA Tribal Governance family. Many thanks to NWIC and Lummi Nation for being gracious hosts and leaders in Indigenous research.
