Entering the MPA program can be intimidating. At least it was for me. I am dyslexic, writing was my kryptonite and knew the amount of writing would be significant. Day one, meeting my cohort I was immediately impressed by the character of my peers and tried to emulate their ability to share ideas in class and their ability to capture those ideas in writing. I worked hard and had amazing faculty. Larry Geri, my faculty would always work with me and help me make my writing the best reflection of my abilities. As a result, I grew and became confident. Upon graduation, the peers that I now knew as friends never stopped rooting for me. They were always there to remind me to align my passion to my career. I am happy to announce I am the New Associate Director of Homes First. A Non-Profit in Thurston County that works to obtain affordable housing for our impacted community. We will work to ensure there is reform in housing policies so our community members can have a quality of life.
