This is a rare opportunity to help <strong>build an outdoor enrichment program from the ground up<\/strong> \u2014 shaping how it runs, how the team grows, and what kids experience, right from year one.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Role Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Field Operations Manager<\/strong> oversees the <strong>day-to-day operations<\/strong> of a HAWKs franchise, ensuring safe, high-quality programming, outstanding customer experiences, and operational and financial success.<\/p>\n<p>This role combines <strong>business leadership<\/strong>, <strong>field operations<\/strong>, and <strong>corporate alignment<\/strong>. The Field Ops Manager manages staff, oversees programming, ensures compliance with HAWKs brand standards, and partners closely with both the <strong>franchise owner<\/strong> and the <strong>corporate support team<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Program &amp; Operational Leadership<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oversee <strong>daily operations<\/strong> for all HAWKs Programming, including full-day camps, after-school enrichment, birthday parties, and events.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Plan, implement, and adapt programming<\/strong> in alignment with HAWKs curriculum, Leave No Trace principles, and nature-based learning goals.<\/li>\n<li>Manage schedules, rosters, and events using HAWKs systems.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Group participants by age<\/strong> to ensure balanced and developmentally appropriate programming.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain, organize, and distribute <strong>camp policies, rules, guidelines, and procedures<\/strong> for educators and families.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Scout and vet trails<\/strong> and outdoor program sites for safety, accessibility, and educational value.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Oversee program vans<\/strong>, including scheduling, safety checks, and day-to-day upkeep.<\/li>\n<li>Step into the field when needed to lead programming, support educators, or troubleshoot unexpected challenges \u2014 with a more active, hands-on teaching role in the early months as the program launches.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>2. Team Leadership &amp; Educator Support<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Recruit, interview, and hire qualified educators and program leads in partnership with the franchise owner.<\/li>\n<li>Develop and manage staff schedules, including shifts, coverage, and vacation approvals.<\/li>\n<li>Lead <strong>onboarding and ongoing training<\/strong> for educators, ensuring they\u2019re equipped to deliver HAWKs programming at the highest quality.<\/li>\n<li>Provide <strong>in-field coaching<\/strong> and ongoing professional development opportunities for staff.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct performance reviews, recommend promotions, and manage performance improvement plans or disciplinary actions when needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>3. Behavioral Management &amp; Safety Oversight<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Implement and uphold HAWKs\u2019 <strong>behavioral policies<\/strong> and group management strategies.<\/li>\n<li>Support educators in managing participant behavior through positive, consistent approaches.<\/li>\n<li>Establish and oversee procedures for handling <strong>health concerns, behavioral issues, and safety incidents<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate emergency response efforts with field educators, ensuring appropriate <strong>medical attention<\/strong> and clear family communication.<\/li>\n<li>Document all incidents and submit reports to the franchise owner and corporate team.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>4. Family &amp; Community Engagement<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Act as the <strong>primary point of contact<\/strong> for families regarding rosters, supply lists, locations, and program updates.<\/li>\n<li>Provide timely, supportive responses to questions, feedback, and concerns.<\/li>\n<li>Represent HAWKs in the community through local events, partnerships, and outreach initiatives.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>5. Reporting &amp; Corporate Alignment<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Submit regular <strong>operational and safety reports<\/strong> to the franchise owner and HAWKs corporate support team.<\/li>\n<li>Share enrollment metrics, incident reports, educator certifications, and customer feedback as required.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure full compliance with HAWKs systems, policies, and brand standards.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with corporate leadership on program updates, curriculum rollouts, and system-wide initiatives.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>6. Systems, Processes &amp; Compliance<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Use <strong>MyTime<\/strong> for scheduling, registration, rosters, attendance, and event coordination.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain accurate records of participant information, staff certifications, and incidents data.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including licensing requirements, location permits and safety guidelines.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Education &amp; Experience<\/strong><strong><br \/><\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>BA\/BS in Environmental Education, Recreation Management, Child Development, or related field (or equivalent experience)\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Minimum<strong> 5+ years<\/strong> of leadership experience in outdoor education, enrichment programming, or place-based camps.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated success managing team performance, and operational systems.<br \/><br \/><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Programming &amp; Safety Expertise<\/strong><strong><br \/><\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience developing or adapting nature-based programming and activities.<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with <strong>native plants, wildlife, and local ecosystems<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>In-depth knowledge of <strong>activity-related safety protocols<\/strong> and emergency response.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Wilderness First Aid Certification<\/strong> (required or obtained within 90 days).<\/li>\n<li>Current <strong>CPR\/First Aid certification<\/strong> (required or obtained within 90 days).<br \/><br \/><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Operational Skills<\/strong><strong><br \/><\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Proficiency in scheduling and operational platforms
