Partners with Supervisors to create professional development for staff, process development, and setting team goals. Provides orientation, training, and feedback for assigned volunteers and externs in collaboration with the Supervisors.<\/li>\n<li>In collaboration with the Associate Director, prepares the annual budget that is part of their functional area and maintains expenses within budgetary guidelines. Responsible for oversight and management of the Bahde Operations budget.<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for oversight and management of animal care supply and inventory. Assist the Wildlife Services coordinator with ordering for the department as well as reconciling the monthly Amex statements.<\/li>\n<li>Participates in the internal process of evaluation of animals for euthanasia.&nbsp; Assists with and performs euthanasia of animals according to AVMA guidelines. Maintains SDHS certification as a certified euthanasia technician.<\/li>\n<li>Manages all wildlife movements including releases and introductions, and consults with the Associate Director for all animal transfers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What we\u2019re looking for:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Requires a bachelor\u2019s degree in Biology, Conservation, Animal Science, Veterinary Science, Zoology or other related field and four (4) years of full time related experience working with animals in a wildlife rehabilitation, wildlife sanctuary, zoo, shelter, or veterinary hospital, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.<\/li>\n<li>One (1) year of supervisor experience required, two (2) years preferred.<\/li>\n<li>Experience using the Wildlife Medical Data Base (WRMD) is preferred.<\/li>\n<li>Must be willing to get rabies pre-exposure series or produce a copy of current rabies pre-exposure series vaccine or titers record.&nbsp; Once employed, must be willing to have rabies titer levels checked every two years and receive boosters as needed.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Must have a valid driver\u2019s license and be approved by SDHS insurance carrier to drive a company or personal vehicle for work purposes and be comfortable using a personal vehicle to transport animals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Location &amp; Hours: <\/strong>Based at our San Diego Campus with expected travel all SDHS campuses and off-site locations. This position works 40 hours per week. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pay:<\/strong>&nbsp;Starting range is between $70,304 \u2013 $79,092 per year.<\/p>\n<p>The listed hiring range for this position depicts the target range of pay rates for candidates. The maximum of the hiring range is reserved for candidates with the highest qualifications and relevant experience. Compensation for internal candidates may increase beyond the listed range based on performance over time.
