The position is located at 1001 I Street, 17th Floor, Sacramento, CA 95814 right in the heart of downtown, next to light rail stations and other public transportation.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Duties:&nbsp;<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Research Data Specialist II (RDS II) is responsible for providing timely and professional support. The RDS II is expected to be courteous and provide timely responses to internal\/external stakeholders, follow through on commitments, solicit and consider internal\/external stakeholder input when completing work assignments, implement engineering methods and protocols with assigned projects, and work independently and in coordination with the Data Support Unit Senior Environmental Scientist (Supervisory) and other State Water Resource Control Board staff.<\/p>\n<p>Under the supervision of a Senior Environmental Scientist (Supervisory) and consistent with good customer service practices and the goals of the State and Regional Board\u2019s Strategic Plan, the incumbent is expected to be courteous and provide timely responses to internal\/external customers, follow through on commitments, and solicit and consider internal\/external customer input when completing work assignments.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Additional information:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Candidates must possess essential personal qualifications including integrity, initiative, dependability, good judgment, the ability to work cooperatively with others, and the ability to perform the assigned duties of the class.<\/p>\n<p>If the position requires driving, you must possess a current and valid driver\u2019s license. Code Regs., tit. 2, \u00a7 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education\/experience. Employees appointed to <u>the Attorney or Water Resource Control Engineer<\/u>classification will receive Recruitment Higher Above Minimum (HAM) rate in accordance with the approved <a href=\"https:\/\/www.calhr.ca.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/361\/2025\/09\/PS_Sec_05.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Civil Service Pay Scales.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In addition, note: Effective July 1, 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) which reduces an employee\u2019s monthly salary in exchange for leave credits.
