TreePeople unites with communities to grow a greener, shadier, and more water-secure region at homes, neighborhoods, schools, and in the local mountains.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p id=\"isPasted\" dir=\"ltr\">The Conservation Coordinator works directly with the Mountain Forestry (Sr.) Progra&nbsp;Manager or Associate Program Manager to help organize and support restoration programs in&nbsp;the Santa Monica Mountains, Angeles National Forest and other local ranges of mountains&nbsp;including tree plantings and tree care events through TreePeople&#8217;s Mountain Forestry Program.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Organize and facilitate restoration, planting and care events, and monitor the progress at&nbsp;restoration sites.&nbsp;\n<ul>\n<li>This includes meeting at TreePeople in Studio City, up to 4x weekly, to pick up&nbsp;work vehicles for each event then, traveling to and from work sites (1-2.5 hours&nbsp;from TreePeople).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Support program operations as needed, including project prep, event support and&nbsp;follow-up.<\/li>\n<li>Weekly data entry which requires proficiency in G-suite and an ability to&nbsp;quickly learn new data entry software.<\/li>\n<li>Support the participation of volunteers in restoration projects including volunteer&nbsp;supervisor training, project prep and follow-up work.<\/li>\n<li>Be a leader in the field, with the knowledge or the ability to quickly learn plant&nbsp;identification, location ecology specifics, wilderness first aid.<\/li>\n<li>Regularly keep in communication with TreePeople\u2019s partners including the following&nbsp;possible: USFS \/ Angeles National Forest, National Park Service, LA County and others to&nbsp;identify, implement, survey and track restoration projects in the Angeles National Forest,&nbsp;and ensure partner\u2019s needs and expectations are met.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with specified grant report data collection, writing and narrative analysis.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with basic operation training as needed with new Associate hires, Americorps, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>SECONDARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Participate in TreePeople\u2019s outreach efforts as needed including tabling, speaking at&nbsp;events, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Support TreePeople&#8217;s nursery by participating in seed collection and treatment, as well&nbsp;as any propagation related activity.<\/li>\n<li>Represent TreePeople at meetings and other gatherings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>One year of experience in field work including but not limited to: habitat restoration,&nbsp;wildlife management, trail building, weed abatement, farming, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Residency near and\/or strong familiarity with the local ranges of mountains, their&nbsp;ecosystems and the communities in the surrounding area.<\/li>\n<li>Sincere interest in the environment and the future of Southern California\u2019s wilderness&nbsp;areas.<\/li>\n<li>Organized, strong work ethic, friendly, smart, proactive, good with public speaking and a&nbsp;quick learner.<\/li>\n<li>Must exemplify safe work practices.<\/li>\n<li>Valid California driver\u2019s license and clean driving record.<\/li>\n<li>Available to work a 4\/10 schedule including some weekend days.<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in G-suite and willingness to learn data entry platforms.<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in or a willingness to learn plant identification.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in volunteer organizing is a plus.<\/li>\n<li>Spanish fluency is a plus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work demands physical energy, twisting, safe heavy lifting ability, and hand-to-eye&nbsp;coordination.<\/li>\n<li>Uses machines, equipment, and work tools including but not limited to: shovels,&nbsp;slammers, McLeod\u2019s, pitch forks, general hand tools, lift gates, water tanks, fire hoses,&nbsp;fire hydrants, weed whips, augers.<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to repeatedly lift 30 pounds throughout a work day.<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to enter and exit a truck cab and bed numerous times a day.<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to navigate up to 5 walking miles of uneven terrain with heavy tools.<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work&nbsp;assignments, i.e., rain, heat, sun, cold.<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div
