This position is primarily based out of our office in Port Townsend and includes travel within our region using a state fleet vehicle and\/or the applicant\u2019s personal vehicle, reimbursable at the state rate.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2 Positions Available\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>(1) 10.5-month service term, beginning September 1st \u2013 July 15th<\/li>\n<li>(1) 8.5-month service term, beginning September 1st \u2013 May 15th<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Interested? It is like the Peace Corps which sends volunteers to serve abroad. AmeriCorps members commit to serve full time for a term of 8.5 \u2013 10.5 months in a community where there is need. They earn a modest monthly stipend and basic medical insurance during their service. When members complete their term, they earn an education award of up to $7,395. Members who are over 55 have the option of transferring their education award to a family member. Washington Service Corps is one of the oldest and largest statewide AmeriCorps programs in the country. We connect over 400 members with service sites every year. Our members serve in schools, food banks, state parks, non-profits, government offices, and more.
