This is a full-time position for someone who enjoys physical outdoor work, has experience with native plants or horticulture, and can work both independently and collaboratively as part of a small team.<\/p>\n<p>The Nursery Technician II plays an important role in maintaining plant health, supporting propagation and seed collection efforts, assisting customers, and helping ensure smooth nursery operations throughout the growing season.<br \/>Successful candidates are reliable, observant, organized, physically durable, and genuinely interested in native plants and ecological restoration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Primary Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Nursery Operations<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Water container plants, propagation beds, and wet beds<\/li>\n<li>Weed nursery beds and production areas<\/li>\n<li>Pot and up-pot native plants<\/li>\n<li>Apply fertilizers and monitor plant health<\/li>\n<li>Prune plants and monitor for pests and disease<\/li>\n<li>Assess irrigation and plant watering needs<\/li>\n<li>Assist customers with native plant selection and plant care knowledge<\/li>\n<li>Process customer purchases using Square POS system<\/li>\n<li>Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas<\/li>\n<li>Follow all nursery safety procedures<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Nursery Manager Support<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pull and prepare plant orders for pickup or delivery<\/li>\n<li>Load and unload plants, materials, and supplies<\/li>\n<li>Assist with nursery inventory and organization<\/li>\n<li>Collect and clean native seed<\/li>\n<li>Assist with plant propagation and seasonal production tasks<\/li>\n<li>Help coordinate and lead crew members on larger projects as needed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Knowledge of Pacific Northwest native plants and plant identification<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions<\/li>\n<li>Ability to perform physically demanding work for up to 8 hours per day, including lifting,bending, carrying, kneeling, and standing<\/li>\n<li>Strong communication and teamwork skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently and stay self-directed<\/li>\n<li>Reliable transportation and punctuality<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Nursery, horticulture, restoration, landscaping, or farming experience<\/li>\n<li>Native seed collection and propagation experience<\/li>\n<li>Basic irrigation knowledge<\/li>\n<li>Experience leading crews or coordinating small teams<\/li>\n<li>Customer service and cash handling experience<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Schedule &amp; Compensation<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Full-time position<\/li>\n<li>Typical schedule is Tuesday\u2013Saturday, 8-hour shifts<\/li>\n<li>Start and end times may vary seasonally and with weather conditions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Position Breakdown<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>100% Nursery Operations<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hours and Benefit Packages<\/strong><br \/>A typical work week is Tuesday through Saturday April through November and may change to Monday through Friday during winter months. Daily shifts are eight hours a day. Start and end times vary due to seasonal and weather conditions.<\/p>\n<p>Prior experience is preferred although training will be provided for a strong candidate.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Starting pay<\/strong><br \/>$23-25, depending on experience.<\/p>\n<p>Paid leave is accrued annually up to 80 hours per year for the first two years of employment and 120 hours per year starting at three years of employment. In addition, we have six paid holidays each calendar year.<\/p>\n<p>Full time employees are eligible for health benefits on the first day of the month following a 30-day probation period. Our current health benefits include medical, dental and vision. The company pays for 75% of the medical, dental and vision benefits.
