We are looking for a relationship builder who is excited to connect people with our mission and engage with the organization\u2019s supporters. The Donor Relations Manager is an \u201cout-the-door\u201d fundraiser. Ideal candidates will enjoy\u00a0connecting\u00a0and interacting with donors who have an interest in protecting Washington\u2019s environment and communities. This person will passionately\u00a0represent\u00a0Washington Conservation Action\u2019s mission, programs, and message with donors, and will proactively network to activate support.\u00a0The Donor Relations Manager will work closely with Washington Conservation Action\u2019s development team to build a donor pipeline and deepen relationships with existing supporters.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">About Our Organization\u00a0<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Washington Conservation Action\u00a0<\/strong>is a statewide environmental advocacy organization that advances environmental policies and pushes for actions that equitably address climate pollution, restore Puget Sound, sustain our state\u2019s forests, and protect our democracy. We continue to advance the application of a racial equity lens to our work and are led by a CEO who is a citizen of the Confederated Tribes Warm Springs, Oregon.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Responsibilities\u00a0<\/h2>\n<p>The Donor Relations Manager connects\u00a0Washington Conservation Action\u2019s mission and policy advocacy with donors who have the capacity to make major gifts. The person in this role cultivates,\u00a0solicits, and stewards a portfolio of both current and prospective donors. They work closely with policy staff and program leadership to creatively grow engagement and involvement with the organization among donors in their portfolio. The role upholds values based and\u00a0equitable\u00a0fundraising practices within the organization.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Key responsibilities for the Donor Relations Manager include:\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Manage and\u00a0solicit\u00a0a portfolio of\u00a0donors and prospects\u00a0giving\u00a0$10,000+\u00a0annually.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Build and strengthen the organization\u2019s relationships with its supporters.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Develop and implement an annual calendar for donor engagement and solicitation.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Coordinate\u00a0donor\u00a0solicitation and\u00a0stewardship meetings and calls with\u00a0staff to support a culture of philanthropy across the organization.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Identify\u00a0prospects for increased giving and develop strategies for advancing donor relationships.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Collaborate with\u00a0development\u00a0team\u00a0colleagues to steward donors and ensure\u00a0timely\u00a0and\u00a0accurate\u00a0acknowledgement of contributions.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Embrace a Values-Based Fundraising approach in communicating and building relationships with donors and supporters.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Understand\u00a0organizational needs and priorities\u00a0and develop compelling narratives and stories that\u00a0connect donor interests with aligned programmatic work.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Participate on a racial equity team.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Required Skills\u00a0<\/h2>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>1 \u2013 3 years of experience working with individual donors or supporting a donor management program (could include\u00a0volunteer experience or\u00a0comparable experience in sales or client service).\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Strong verbal communication and presentation skills across mediums and audiences.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Understanding of data management practices\u00a0and experience using\u00a0a Constituent Relationship Management platform (Salesforce preferred).\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Strong writing skills and experience producing persuasive written content such as strategic communications plans, proposals, or other written materials.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A commitment to an ongoing anti-racist learning journey, both personally and professionally.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A\u00a0strong desire\u00a0to be a productive member of a team that is deeply engaged in the work of building power with Black, Brown, and Indigenous people.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously and meet deadlines while working across teams.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Driven to improving systems and solving problems.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Commitment to working\u00a0collaboratively\u00a0and\u00a0track record\u00a0working as part of a development team.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree or\u00a0commensurate\u00a0work experience.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Experience using the Microsoft Office suite of tools.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Desired Skills\u00a0<\/h2>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Experience organizing and supporting small donor events including briefings and house parties, and large donor events such as fundraising galas.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Familiarity or experience with grant writing or\u00a0donor proposal development.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Customer service\u00a0or relationship management\u00a0experience.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Knowledge of and experience with Community Centric Fundraising or Values-Based Fundraising.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Compensation and Benefits\u00a0<\/h2>\n<p>This is a full time, non-exempt position with a salary of $65,500. We also offer a generous benefits package including 100% employer paid medical and dental insurance premiums for a\u00a0silver level health plan, 401k plan and organizational match of up to 3% of your annual salary, a Flexible Spending Account, four weeks of paid vacation to start, sick leave, thirteen paid holidays per year, an unlimited ORCA transit pass if you are in the ORCA service region, $1,000 per year for professional development and if you work for five consecutive years you are eligible for a two-month paid sabbatical. A hybrid remote agreement is\u00a0required. Washington Conservation Action\u2019s office is based in downtown Seattle.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Most of our\u00a0nearly 50\u00a0staff work in a flexible hybrid model, with staff typically in the office two days a week for collaboration and celebration. The\u00a0remainder\u00a0of our staff are considered fully remote, since they live outside the greater Puget Sound area but within Washington. All staff members have access to tools and systems to support work from home, whether hybrid or remote.
