They will collaborate on the Environmental Justice Assessment and assist with outreach to vulnerable communities. The IP will help develop public outreach materials for the rule, assist with public meetings, and work on the guidance for the application process.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll learn about Environmental Justice and how to write an Environmental Justice Assessment. You\u2019ll learn how wetlands are protected in Washington and how to develop a rule. You\u2019ll work with a team of environmental professionals all moving towards the goal of an effective and efficient permit program. You\u2019ll have the opportunity to practice public speaking at virtual meetings.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligibility and Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be 18-25 years old, with exceptions for those with military service or mental or sensory disabilities.<\/li>\n<li>Must be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, or Lawful U.S. Permanent Resident.<\/li>\n<li>Preference is given to Washington state residents.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Pay and Benefits<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Living allowance of $1,455, twice a month ($2,910 per month, before taxes).<\/li>\n<li>AmeriCorps education award (scholarship) of $1,956.35 after successful completion of the quarter term (450 service hours).<\/li>\n<li>Health insurance starting on the first day of service. WCC pays the monthly insurance premium.<\/li>\n<li>Mental health services through the Member Assistance Program (MAP).<\/li>\n<li>Members may be eligible for food benefits through the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services.<\/li>\n<li>Members may qualify for childcare assistance through the AmeriCorps Childcare Program.<\/li>\n<li>Access to professional discounts on outdoor gear.<\/li>\n<li>Up to 40 hours of personal time off in addition to observed state holidays.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Schedule:<\/strong> Members serve 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday<\/p>\n<p><strong>Term Length:<\/strong> June 8, 2026, to Sept. 11, 2026<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application<\/strong><br \/>Submit an online application (select this IP position on the application) and email cover letter and optional resume to lauren.driscoll@ecy.wa.gov.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About WCC<\/strong><br \/>Washington Conservation Corps (WCC) creates future leaders through community involvement and mentorship.
