Educators are responsible for creating a fun, safe, and engaging learning experience while helping explorers build community and forge connections with nature.<\/p>\n<p>This role is hands-on, outdoors, and collaborative.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Program Delivery &amp; Group Leadership<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead groups of 8\u201314 explorers (ages 5\u201316) with a co-educator on hikes, with games, and hands-on activities.<\/li>\n<li>Teach nature-based lessons focused on ecological systems, environmental science, and conservation.<\/li>\n<li>Lead nature-themed games, songs, crafts, and activities that inspire curiosity and creativity.<\/li>\n<li>Teach and model trail safety and Leave No Trace principles during all programming.<\/li>\n<li>Adapt activities to the age, interests, and skill level of each group to ensure a positive learning experience.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>2. Safety &amp; Risk Management<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure the physical and emotional safety of all explorers during hikes and programming.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor group dynamics and diffuse conflicts between participants as needed.<\/li>\n<li>Lead children safely across varied terrain, including streams, steep trails, and wildlife habitats.<\/li>\n<li>Carry and manage a first aid kit, water bladder, and other field essentials during all programs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>3. Family &amp; Team Communication<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Communicate with parents and caregivers before and after programming using the registration and messaging platform.<\/li>\n<li>Provide updates on explorers\u2019 experiences, highlights from the day, and any concerns.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate closely with co-educators and senior team members to ensure seamless program delivery.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>4. Contribution to HAWKs Culture<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Create a positive, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all explorers.<\/li>\n<li>Act as an ambassador for HAWKs\u2019 mission, modeling environmental awareness and respect for nature.<\/li>\n<li>Support fellow educators and share knowledge, tips, and techniques to strengthen the team\u2019s collective impact.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Education &amp; Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Associate\u2019s or Bachelor\u2019s degree in environmental science, education, biology, or related fields<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience working with children or in outdoor education strongly preferred.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Skills &amp;
