That\u2019s why we support a global network of public interest lawyers and<br \/>scientists in 80+ countries working to protect communities and ecosystems through law.<br \/>Headquartered in Eugene, Oregon, ELAW connects local expertise with global impact\u2014empowering people on the front lines of environmental and human rights challenges.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About the Role<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Partnerships and Communications (P&amp;C) Director provides vision, strategic direction, and oversight to the P&amp;C Team, which works with the organization\u2019s leadership to frame the unique identity of ELAW, build public awareness of ELAW\u2019s role in advancing environmental justice, and foster relationships with individual, foundation, and other supporters.<\/p>\n<p>The P&amp;C Director develops, updates and executes ELAW\u2019s fundraising and communications strategy to meet annual organizational needs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What You\u2019ll Do<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cultivate and steward funders and prospective funders (private foundations and individual donors).<\/li>\n<li>Establish and update ELAW\u2019s public-facing communications strategy.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure ELAW\u2019s website, bulletins, social media, and public events and webinars are targeted, accurate, and compelling.<\/li>\n<li>Elevate ELAW as a credible organization with impressive partners doing critical work with positive environmental and social outcomes on a global scale.<\/li>\n<li>Work as a member of the ELAW Leadership Team to guide the organization\u2019s programs and strategies.<\/li>\n<li>Provide leadership to and supervise staff and consultants on the P&amp;C Team.<\/li>\n<li>Manage personnel matters in consultation with the Executive Office, setting and updating team priorities, ensuring high quality work products, and ensuring the team interacts efficiently and effectively with the other teams at ELAW.<\/li>\n<li>Oversee and\/or act as the Board Secretary, ensuring all responsibilities are<br \/>fulfilled and deadlines are met in accordance with established bylaws.<\/li>\n<li>Direct and partner with Grant Finance Manager on all grant-related activities, including:<\/li>\n<li>Grant writing, grant administration, grant reporting<\/li>\n<li>Cultivating and stewarding current and prospective funders<\/li>\n<li>Air traffic control of grants portfolio<\/li>\n<li>Helping Grant Managers track deadlines<\/li>\n<li>Managing Salesforce foundation records<\/li>\n<li>Direct and partner with Individual Giving Manager to build, maintain, and oversee relationships with individual donors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Communications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oversee production of weekly ELAW Bulletins, directly contributing by writing and editing as appropriate<\/li>\n<li>Oversee production of quarterly newsletter (ELAW Advocate), directly contributing by writing and editing as appropriate<\/li>\n<li>Connect with and steward reporters<\/li>\n<li>Create and maintain publicity materials (brochures etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Organize ELAW fundraising and other donor events<\/li>\n<li>Oversee social media accounts to ensure ELAW\u2019s initiatives are being shared with a large audience<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Education and Outreach<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Help partners strengthen their organizations through foundation fundraising<\/li>\n<li>Help partners strengthen their communications<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Who You Are<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You are an experienced professional with significant experience in both strategic communications and fundraising. You thrive in a collaborative, cross-cultural environment and are eager to support a mission-driven global community. You are enthusiastic about relationship building with individual donors and foundations and participating in and organizing social events and gatherings.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Legally authorized to work in the United States<\/li>\n<li>Strong preference for candidates residing in or near Eugene, Oregon, but exceptional candidates residing in other locations with regular ability to travel to Eugene, Oregon may be considered<\/li>\n<li>Committed to human rights and environmental protection<\/li>\n<li>Excellent writing skills<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of 10 years\u2019 experience in related positions.
