Due to seasonal tourism, responsibilities evolve throughout the year.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"332\" data-end=\"722\">In the summer, the Education Assistant leads public tours, delivers engaging Keeper Talks, and supports on-site events. During the off-season, the role shifts to development initiatives and community outreach, expanding the Sanctuary\u2019s educational reach and impact. The Education Assistant works closely with the Education Manager to support daily operations and advance departmental goals.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"724\" data-end=\"974\">Located in Red Lodge at the base of the Beartooth Mountains, this position also offers an exceptional quality of life with immediate access to world-class outdoor recreation, including hiking, skiing, climbing, and wildlife viewing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Guide tours for schools\/educational groups<\/li>\n<li>Guide professional private tours for tourists.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with scheduling of tours and processing associated documentation and data.<\/li>\n<li>Help with summer programs including camps and Boys and Girls Club programs.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct Keeper Talks for visitors twice a day on weekends (weekend work is required)<\/li>\n<li>Assist with educational events hosted by the Sanctuary.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with scheduled Animal Encounters for visitors.<\/li>\n<li>Assist the Executive Director with other educational development tasks as needed.<\/li>\n<li>Create awareness and interest in YWS\u2019 educational resources among schools and other organizations that could benefit from participation. This may include reaching out to, building connections with, and distributing resources on behalf of the Sanctuary.<\/li>\n<li>Deliver outreach programs to outside organizations.<\/li>\n<li>Help maintain the social media accounts, including developing and disseminating engaging educational content, for a steady flow of informative content on traditional and social media. This would include Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Sanctuary<br \/>podcasts. The position may assist with newsletter content under the direction of the Education Manager and the Executive Director.<\/li>\n<li>Design and create visually engaging promotional materials using Canva or other graphic design tools to advertise events and educational programs effectively. This involves creating flyers, social media posts, and other marketing collateral to enhance the<br \/>Sanctuary\u2019s visibility and outreach efforts.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with the care and maintenance of ambassador animals, including our two tiger salamanders, ensuring their well-being and proper handling during educational encounters. This includes feeding, habitat upkeep, and monitoring their health and<br \/>behavior.<\/li>\n<li>Other duties as assigned by the Education Manager or Executive Director as needed.
