With roots in the land, we create opportunities for people to learn, lead, and thrive. We envision an equitable world where we are all nourished by healthy relationships, resilient community, and good food.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Our work lives at the intersection of food, education, and health systems. Each year, we directly engage approximately 1500 Thurston County residents of all ages in relationships-based programming centered on growing and preparing good food. We primarily work with young people, families with low incomes, students, seniors experiencing hunger, tribal communities, and veterans, active duty service members, and their families. Visit\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.goodgrub.org\/\" data-uw-rm-brl=\"PR\" data-uw-original-href=\"http:\/\/www.goodgrub.org\">goodgrub.org<\/a>\u00a0for more information.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Position Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This position supports community connection at GRuB through leading volunteers and groups on the farm, connecting volunteers with GRuB Youth, leading workshops for home garden recipients, and sharing stories of connection through GRuB\u2019s e-news and social media. This position will participate in required AmeriCorps training and activities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Position Funding<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This position is funded by AmeriCorps and is paid a monthly living stipend through AmeriCorps.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Position Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Volunteer Activity Lead (40%)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul role=\"list\">\n<li>Lead individual volunteers and groups<\/li>\n<li>Engage GRuB youth with volunteers<\/li>\n<li>Work on the land and farm with volunteers and youth<\/li>\n<li>Engage in service projects during national days of service<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Volunteer Coordination (15%)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul role=\"list\">\n<li>Recruit volunteers<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate volunteer engagement<\/li>\n<li>Volunteer data entry<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Gardening and Cooking Workshops<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul role=\"list\">\n<li>Lead and co-lead monthly gardening and cooking workshops with the GRuB Garden Project (15%)<\/li>\n<li>Co-design and coordinate workshop series (15%)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Outreach Coordination (15%)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul role=\"list\">\n<li>Collect stories of community connection\u00a0 from participants in gardening workshops, volunteers, and youth<\/li>\n<li>Post stories in e-news and on social media<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Organizational Stewardship<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul role=\"list\">\n<li>Support with care of the site and all hands on deck events as time allows<\/li>\n<li>Engage with and experience all GRuB programs as time allows<\/li>\n<li>Participate in all-GRuBber meetings and trainings that are relevant to this position<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul role=\"list\">\n<li>Drivers license<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity\/comfort in facilitation<\/li>\n<li>Comfort in outdoor farm activities<\/li>\n<li>Moderate skills in using Google Suite<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul role=\"list\">\n<li>Experience in outdoor learning environments<\/li>\n<li>Experience in facilitating groups<\/li>\n<li>Experience in volunteer coordination and outreach<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Benefits and Support<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul role=\"list\">\n<li>Produce from the farm<\/li>\n<li>GRuB trainings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Physical Demands and Working Conditions\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Work is performed both in an open office setting, with computer work for extended periods and outdoors in all weather. Requires periods of physical activity involving standing, walking, bending, and moderate lifting up to 50 pounds, including time outdoors on our farm and programming sites in all weather conditions.
