SPSSEG serves several counties throughout the region and is located<br \/>in Olympia, WA. We partner with state, federal and local government, Native American Tribes,<br \/>Conservation Districts, landowners, and other non \u2013 profits to plan and implement restoration<br \/>and education projects. Our organization relies on state and federal grants, and in-kind and<br \/>cash donations. We typically manage projects that are funded by these grants, taking them<br \/>from conception through construction, by hiring engineering and science consultants, and<br \/>construction contractors. Our total budget varies year to year, typically between $3 million and<br \/>$6 million per year and there are currently 8 employees.<\/p>\n<p><br \/><strong>General Position Description:<\/strong><br \/>SPSSEG is seeking an exceptional and resourceful Accounts professional to join our team.<br \/>The ideal candidate is highly organized, personable and has non-profit accounting experience.<br \/>The position also provides organizational wide support, and works closely with the executive<br \/>director, program staff and the board of directors. Proficiency with a wide range of software<br \/>and an ability to learn new software and manage technological issues is required. This position<br \/>plays an important role in our financial success, quality control and ensuring organizational<br \/>consistency.<\/p>\n<p><br \/><strong>Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain accurate, up-to-date financial systems in QuickBooks.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements<\/li>\n<li>Process bi-weekly payroll.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare complex grant invoices and reimbursement requests.<\/li>\n<li>Oversee contract compliance and tracking.<\/li>\n<li>Support annual budget preparation and monitor budget to actuals.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate annual financial review and audits.<\/li>\n<li>Present financials at Board meetings as needed.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain organizational systems for contracts, insurance, and equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Manage vendor relationships.<\/li>\n<li>Administer employee benefits, retirement plan, and paid leave tracking.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain personal files and ensure compliance with state and federal employment laws.<\/li>\n<li>Support hiring process and onboarding.<\/li>\n<li>Professional office and administration support.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><br \/><strong>Qualifications and Experience:<\/strong><br \/>This position either requires a Bachelor\u2019s Degree and at least five years of relevant accounting<br \/>and office management experience, or an Associate\u2019s Degree with at least seven years of<br \/>relevant experience.<\/p>\n<p>A qualified applicant will have extensive experience with project-based accounting and<br \/>complex budget tracking, managing several funding sources including state and federal grants,<br \/>and be proficient in QuickBooks, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project, and\/or other budget<br \/>software.
