This is an at-will, temporary, hourly, non-exempt position. The Road Survey Lead will work up to 40 hours per week, primarily four 10-hour days (Monday \u2013 Thursday). This is a seasonal position which will work primarily through the Winter into the Summer season (January \u2013 July). This is a seasonal, grant-funded position.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>About the Association:<\/strong><br \/>The Coos Watershed Association (Association) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that was established in 1994 by a diverse group of stakeholders with a mission to support environmental integrity and economic stability within the Coos watershed by increasing community capacity to develop, test, promote, and implement management practices in the interests of watershed health. The Association is governed by a Board of Directors and managed by the Executive Director. These duties are a representative example of position expectations; actual duties assigned may vary and change depending on funding and Association needs.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Lead the progress of road erosion surveys<br \/>\u2022 Collect accurate condition and GPS data on roads and drainage features (culverts, bridges, etc.), including daily QA\/QC and submission of Esri Field Maps survey forms<br \/>\u2022 Safely operate hand tools and vehicles in the execution of the above duties<br \/>\u2022 Communicate respectfully and effectively with other staff, supervisors, board, landowners, and partners<br \/>\u2022 Maintain a team player mentality and pitch in as needed to help ensure all aspects of the Association\u2019s work are successful<br \/>\u2022 All other duties as assigned<\/p>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 High school diploma or equivalency<br \/>\u2022 College certificate\/degree or equivalent of 2 years of experience in natural resource work<br \/>\u2022 Ability to safely operate mechanical equipment, hand tools (machete, hand saw, pruners, etc.)<br \/>\u2022 Strong interpersonal skills necessary to maintain effective, professional, and collaborative relationships with staff and project partners<br \/>\u2022 Excellent ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing\u00a0<br \/>\u2022 Excellent time management skills and ability to be productive in a collaborative work environment\u00a0<br \/>\u2022 Ability to work as a team to execute tasks and adhere to project timelines<br \/>\u2022 Ability to adjust to a variable work schedule based on project needs (i.e., early mornings, long hours, seasonal fluctuations, etc.) and ability to work in varied work environments and conditions (i.e., cold temperatures, hot temperatures, windy, wet, dry, etc.)<br \/>\u2022 Must be 18 years old or older<br \/>\u2022 Ability to lift 40 pounds and walk long distances (up to 6 miles a day).<br \/>\u2022 Must have a current driver\u2019s license, auto insurance, and reliable vehicle to use for work purposes<br \/>\u2022 The above is not meant to be all-inclusive, and requirements may change according to the demands of this position.
