This position will be located at our Magic Valley Regional Office located in Jerome, Idaho. This is a 8-month temporary position and is expected to work up to 40-50 hours per week. Housing is available for the employee only. No pets. Employment Dates: 04\/12\/2026 to 12\/18\/2026.<\/p>\n<p>Why IDFG? The incumbent will be required to operate motorized equipment including ATVs, boats, and fleet vehicles. Evening, weekend, and holiday work may be required. Overnight in-state travel will be required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 High school diploma or equivalent<br \/>\u2022 Must be at least 18 years old<br \/>\u2022 Must possess a valid driver\u2019s license<br \/>\u2022 Experience following oral and written instructions, policies, and procedures<br \/>\u2022 Some knowledge of biology, zoology, botany, conservation biology or closely related field<br \/>\u2022 Some knowledge of life history, anatomy, and ecology of various fish species<br \/>\u2022 Experience recording data<br \/>\u2022 Experience interacting with the public in a professional setting<br \/>\u2022 Experience operating ATVs, boats, trailers, trucks, and\/or UTVs<strong><br \/><\/strong><br \/>In addition to the minimum qualifications, the ideal candidate will have relevant professional or volunteer-related experience in the natural resources field and previous college coursework in topics related to natural resource sciences. Additional consideration may be given at the time of the interview to candidates who have this experience. Please be sure to include any experience you have in these areas within your application materials.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Incumbents will generally work under direct or indirect supervision and perform tasks following established guidelines or procedures. Incumbents will conduct fish population surveys on streams, lakes, and reservoirs; assist with habitat improvement projects; conduct creel survey interviews; prepare, repair, and gather equipment for surveys; record data ; enter data into databases; prepare fish aging structures for lab analysis; and complete other duties as assigned.<\/p>\n<p>EEO\/Veteran\u2019s Preference.
