Duty station is in Coeur d\u2019Alene, Idaho and temporary housing for all positions is available in Farragut State Park. All positions are full time (40+ hours\/week) and run from approximately April through November 2026. One position is benefitted while the other is not. Start date is flexible depending on applicant availability.<\/p>\n<p>Applicants with or without reasonable accommodations may be required to work long hours in varying and often inclement weather conditions, hiking steep and\/or slippery terrain, lifting and carrying items weighing up to 60 lbs, and occasionally working at night. The work schedule will be highly irregular at times and includes occasional weekend work, night work, and overnight stays in the field. Valid driver\u2019s license required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sampling kokanee at nighttime using hydroacoustics and trawling gear.<\/li>\n<li>Collecting limnological samples.<\/li>\n<li>Sampling and tagging Smallmouth Bass, Walleye, Northern Pike, kokanee, Rainbow Trout, and Bull Trout in fast-paced environments.<\/li>\n<li>Processing biological samples in a laboratory setting.<\/li>\n<li>Entering, organizing, and QA\/QC of biological data.<\/li>\n<li>Conducting spawning surveys for kokanee and Bull Trout.<\/li>\n<li>Assisting with gill-netting and boat electrofishing efforts.<\/li>\n<li>Preparing aging structures for age and growth analyses.<\/li>\n<li>Conducting acoustic telemetry surveys and managing telemetry data.<\/li>\n<li>Safely operating a variety of watercraft in rivers, large lakes, and reservoirs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to work independently and in a team setting.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to interact with the public in a professional manner.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to follow established sampling and data entry protocols with high attention to detail.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated high degree of initiative and problem-solving ability.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Desired Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in Fisheries or related field, or equivalent experience and training.<\/li>\n<li>Experience operating boats and hauling trailers.<\/li>\n<li>Experience collecting limnological samples.<\/li>\n<li>Experience processing biological samples in a laboratory setting.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of fish anatomy, morphology, and physiology as well as age and growth analyses .<\/li>\n<li>Data management skills in Microsoft Suite and\/or R software.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div class=\"job-frame__how-to-apply test_job_how_to_apply\"><span class=\"job-frame__how-to-apply__button gtag4-how-to-apply-button\">How To Apply<\/span>\n<div id=\"how-to-apply-content-266830\" class=\"job-frame__how-to-apply__content\">\n<ul>\n<li>Applicants must first register with Idaho Department of Labor at <a href=\"https:\/\/labor.idaho.gov\">https:\/\/labor.idaho.gov<\/a>.
