Regular programming occurs on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. During the month of March, we will have salmon release field\u00a0<br \/>trips Mondays-Fridays. Ideal candidates will be available for three weekdays (Wed-Fri), specifically prioritizing Wednesdays and Fridays due to program needs.\u00a0<br \/>Spring quarter takes place February 9 \u2013 June 5, which will often have 3-5 field trips per week. Hours fluctuate throughout the quarter, and schedules will be released one month in advance. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Employee Classification: <\/strong>Temporary, Part-time, Non-exempt\u00a0<br \/><strong>Supervised by: <\/strong>Education Program Coordinator\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1. Educate fourth grade students in salmon ecology topics during four-hour, fully outdoor Students for Salmon field trips in all kinds of weather\u00a0<br \/>2. Independently lead engaging educational stations emphasizing macroinvertebrates, native plants, and water quality\u00a0<br \/>3. Practice group management and youth engagement while leading groups of up to 12 students\u00a0<br \/>4. Maintain a safe, friendly, and inclusive learning environment for all students, adjusting to different abilities, learning styles, and English Language Learners\u00a0<br \/>5. Work collaboratively as a group of three interns and Education Coordinator\u00a0<br \/>6. Lift and load heavy equipment such as tents and tables, sometimes across vast outdoor restoration sites, in all weather conditions\u00a0<br \/>7. Prep, set up, and clean up before and after field trips, including entering program metrics on the computer\u00a0<br \/>8. Lead games and activities for fourth graders on one-hour, fully outdoor salmon release field trips\u00a0<br \/>9. Assist in emptying and cleaning up aquariums\u00a0<br \/>10. Work collaboratively with fellow interns to plan and organize for upcoming needs\u00a0<br \/>11. Support additional NSEA programming efforts, if applicable \u00a0<br \/>12. Assist with facility needs, if applicable\u00a0<br \/>13. Other duties assigned, as needed\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Individual intern schedules and responsibilities will depend on availability. Priority will be given to applicants with full availability (Wed-Fri) February 9th \u2013 June 5th to meet\u00a0<br \/>program needs. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 18 years or older\u00a0<br \/>\u2022 Able to get to NSEA\u2019s campus, located at 3057 E.
