You will assist the samplers in the field through an orientation, in-port training, and by answering questions as they arise in the field.<\/p>\n<p>Note: This position will require the employee to drive between Newport and Astoria (sometimes coast wide) on a weekly basis (summer) and Tillamook and Salmon River daily (fall and winter). May work in fish plants and on docks (summer) or spend several days per week at a fish hatchery handling and tagging fish with required fish\/water contact. May work on fishing vessels at sea on salmon research projects.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/acrobat.adobe.com\/id\/urn:aaid:sc:VA6C2:ab3a58a2-0c30-47af-9f8b-08141c452865\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>For a full review of the position details, duties, and working conditions, please review the position description located here.<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>What we are looking for:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In order to meet qualifications, candidates must have one of the following options:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"css-v55p23\">\n<p><em><strong><u>Option 1:<\/u><\/strong><\/em> Three years of biological experience performing studies, research, or resource management activities in a fish or marine program.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"css-v55p23\">\n<p><em><strong><u>Option 2:<\/u><\/strong><\/em> A Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Fisheries, Marine Science or a closely-related Bachelor&#8217;s degree with at least 45 quarter (30 semester) hours of biological\/ecological\/oceanographic coursework<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Desired Attributes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Logistical coordination of field projects<\/li>\n<li>Conducting creel or commercial fishery sampling<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of Oregon anadromous fish and their habitats<\/li>\n<li>Collecting and organizing data<\/li>\n<li>Leading field crews in a natural resource setting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Application Details and Instructions<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><u>Your application helps determine your starting salary.
