Through service at a USFWS unit and region\/field office, the Fellow will work to facilitate transportation planning or implementation projects and help develop transportation solutions that preserve valuable resources and enhance the visitor experience. The Fellow will be hired as an employee of the <a href=\"https:\/\/westerntransportationinstitute.org\/\">Western Transportation Institute<\/a>(WTI) at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.montana.edu\/\">Montana State University<\/a> and will receive orientation, professional development opportunities, and mentorship from WTI staff. The USFWS will provide an onsite supervisor and workspace at the NWR.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The fellows will be hired to serve at one of three National Wildlife Refuges including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fws.gov\/refuge\/minnesota-valley\">Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge<\/a> in Bloomington, Minnesota<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fws.gov\/refuge\/tualatin-river\">Tualatin River<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fws.gov\/refuge\/wapato-lake\">Wapato Lake National Wildlife Refuges<\/a> in Sherwood &amp; Gaston, Oregon<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fws.gov\/refuge\/arthur-r-marshall-loxahatchee\">Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge<\/a> in Palm Beach County, Florida.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Successful applicants will have completed a Bachelor&#8217;s or Master&#8217;s Degree in a field relevant to the position with demonstrated interest, experience or coursework focused on developing transportation solutions.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Public Lands Transportation Fellows who complete their assignment will be eligible for federal non-competitive hiring status for two years following the completion of their fellowship.
