We\u2019re looking for a\u00a0<strong>Land Use Planner<\/strong>\u00a0to join our Planning team in our\u00a0<strong>Richland, Washington office<\/strong>. If you thrive in fast-paced environments and love the challenges that come with this type of consulting work, this is an outstanding opportunity to work side by side with a well-respected and talented multi-disciplinary team of professionals in a dynamic organization.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>What You\u2019ll Do\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li><strong>Research:\u00a0<\/strong>Perform timely and accurate property, zoning, and utility research to ensure compliance with municipal land use regulations.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Application Preparation:\u00a0<\/strong>Prepare, organize, and submit required materials for land use applications, including subdivisions, zone changes, conditional use permits, and site plan reviews.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Analysis:\u00a0<\/strong>Analyze and break down complex issues affecting property, transportation networks, utility infrastructure, etc., to respond to client inquiries and assess the feasibility of property development.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Collaboration:\u00a0<\/strong>Coordinate effectively with in-house engineering, surveying, and landscape architectural co-workers, permitting agency staff, and other project team members.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Proposal Development:\u00a0<\/strong>Develop clearly written and detailed scopes of work for proposals.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Client Interaction:<\/strong>\u00a0Coordinate with clients on project data and scheduling.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Meeting Organization:<\/strong>\u00a0Set up, organize, and attend neighborhood meetings.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Project Management:<\/strong>\u00a0Create, organize, and maintain project schedules, define critical paths, and track milestone dates.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Relationship Building:\u00a0<\/strong>Develop and maintain effective positive working relationships with co-workers, clients, permitting agency staff, and other project team members.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Travel:\u00a0<\/strong>Able to travel out of town as necessary, occasionally overnight.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Who you are\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Extensive experience performing land use planning\/land development-related activities.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>A bachelor\u2019s degree in planning, landscape architecture, geography, or related field or equivalent work experience.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Experience interpreting and applying City and County Comprehensive Plans and Development Codes. Knowledge of Washington&#8217;s Statewide Planning System.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficient with word processing, presentation, spreadsheet, and scheduling software (Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, Adobe, etc.). Excellent written and verbal communication skills.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently while providing support to Senior Land Use Planners or Project Managers with minimal supervision.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Ability to manage multiple and conflicting deadlines and prioritize workload.
