Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission is seeking a highly motivated individual to assist the U.S. Geological Survey as a Fishery Biologist at the Western Fisheries Research Center. This will involve field work on boats in lakes around the Region and in Puget Sound and on foot or in boats in rivers\/streams around the Region. This research is related to food web dynamics and artificial light affects on fish.
The incumbent will assist in the collection of samples for analyses within the lab on age and growth, fish diets, stable isotopes, etc. The incumbent will also assist in performing experiments in a wet lab facility requiring some animal husbandry and running predator prey reactions and bioenergetics trials.<\/p>\n
The following experience and skills are highly desirable:<\/strong>
\u00b7 fish husbandry experience
\u00b7 experience with data analysis, and proficiency with coding in R or python preferred
\u00b7 experience conducting an independent research project
\u00b7 ability to work independently on a project and see it to completion, when provided the specific goals and objectives by the supervisor
