Title<\/strong>: Habitat Restoration Specialist \u00a0<\/p>\n

Status<\/strong>: Nonexempt, full-time, permanent-dependent upon completion of a 90-day introductory period. Mandatory seasonal overtime. \u00a0<\/p>\n

Location<\/strong>: Hillsboro main office, restoration sites throughout the Pacific Northwest \u00a0<\/p>\n

Transportation<\/strong>: Provide own transportation to work sites, Hillsboro facility, or other planned locations. Company carpool available between Hillsboro facility and work sites. \u00a0<\/p>\n

Summary<\/strong>: Execute habitat restoration treatments while maintaining measurable safety, quality, and output requirements. \u00a0<\/p>\n

Compensation and Benefits<\/strong>: $18.50 upon hire, subject to increase to $20 per hour after 90 days. Further raises available upon completion of in-house certifications, performance, and length of service, up to $24.50 per hour. Medical, dental, and life insurance. Essential Duties: \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Control noxious weeds through careful, precise application of herbicides using backpack sprayers\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Plant bare-root trees and shrubs\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Install container plants, plugs, and bulbs\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Prepare and install native plant pole cuttings\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Maintain native tree and shrub plantings using hand-tools and power tools\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Perform site preparation using a variety of power equipment\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Repair, clean, and maintain all hand and power tools in operating condition\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Operate and maintain company tractors, ATVs, and trucks\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Load and unload vehicles and trailers with all required equipment\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Collect native plant seed\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Other duties as requested\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Experience\/Qualifications (Required): \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    • Must possess or obtain Oregon Certified Pesticide Applicators License within 90 days of employment<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • Ability, motivation, and endurance for 8 to 10 hours of productive manual labor\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • Ability to work outdoors across uneven terrain during inclement weather\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • Ability to work collaboratively with a team\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • Experience using hand and power tools (chainsaw, shovel, etc.)\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • Ability to safely lift 60 lbs.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • Valid driver’s license & ability to safely operate motor vehicles<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
