\nESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS<\/u><\/strong>:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n- Locate, verify and identify water facilities and appurtenances in the field using paper and electronic system maps.<\/li>\n
- Utilize GPS equipment to collect various asset data in the field to inform condition assessment, operations & maintenance and capital project planning.<\/li>\n
- Create and edit GIS features and attributes.<\/li>\n
- Work with Water & Wastewater Technicians to identify and report required map updates.<\/li>\n
- Responsible for use, care and security of tools, vehicles, equipment and materials utilized.<\/li>\n
- Perform work with a high level of accuracy and professionalism.<\/li>\n
- Must have the ability to work as a member of a team and independently.<\/li>\n
- Drive and\/or operate vehicles and equipment as required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities<\/u><\/strong>:<\/strong>
\n\n- Must learn to locate and identify mains, distribution lines, pipes, meters, hydrants, and valves.<\/li>\n
- Must learn to work from maps, GPS devices, paper maps, specifications and sketches.\u00a0<\/li>\n

- High level of cooperation within the work group and with other departments required.\n

Education, Experience and Training<\/u><\/strong>:<\/strong>
\n\n- Experience with water or wastewater systems and associated equipment and materials, including computers and GPS\/GIS equipment preferred.<\/li>\n
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.<\/li>\n
- Must be a student enrolled in a post-secondary education program.<\/li>\n
- Experience in the operation of District (or similar) vehicles and equipment preferred.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Other Requirements<\/u><\/strong>:<\/strong>
\n\n- Must pass a District physical examination and be able to perform essential job functions.<\/li>\n
- Must wear and utilize personal protective equipment as required.\n
\n- A valid driver’s license and safe driving record.<\/li>\n

WORKING CONDITIONS<\/u><\/strong>:<\/strong>
\n\n- The job functions will be performed in indoor and outdoor environments, subject to adverse weather conditions and noise.<\/li>\n

- Job functions around traffic or mechanized equipment will present the need for alertness and safety awareness.<\/li>\n

- Job functions require work on ladders, structures and equipment.<\/li>\n
