$7,043.00 Monthly<\/strong><br \/><br \/><strong>Want to join something GREAT and make a difference?<\/strong><br \/>The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has an exciting opportunity within our Wildland Fire Management Division as\u00a0<strong>Fire Prevention Specialist.\u00a0<\/strong>This position will catalog and develop fire prevention plans and activities with an overarching goal of reducing wildfires due to human causes. This position will work with fire investigation, communications, community wildfire preparedness, policy, and other wildfire prevention professionals throughout Washington and the Pacific Northwest to identify and implement actions to reduce human caused wildfires.\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/dd>\n<dt>\n<h2>Duties<\/h2>\n<\/dt>\n<dd>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This position will work with DNR Regional and Division staff to audit and document fire prevention activities currently being conducted around the state, along with any associated plans and defined programs of work related to fire prevention. When in the field, the incumbent must work in uneven, unstable footing, often in mountainous terrain, while working alone. If on a fire assignment, work setting includes camping and working in remote, dusty, and smoky areas.<\/li>\n<li>Infrequent travel to field sites, training locations, and conferences. If on fire assignment, travel could be 14 to 21 days in length for the assignment with travel to and from the home unit on both ends.<\/li>\n<li>A valid unrestricted driver\u2019s license and have two years of driving experience. This position requires driving as an essential function.
