The position works to restore habitats for fish, shellfish, and wildlife and improve the Tribe\u2019s resilience to the effects of climate change. The RPM is responsible for managing large restoration project budgets in compliance with grant agreement contracts. The position manages consultant contracts for a range of services and coordinates with a variety of stakeholders and government agencies. The RPM supervises the Natural Resources Technician and manages consultant and grant contracts. The RPM collaborates with the tribal community and staff.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ignore-global-css\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"ignore-global-css\"><span class=\"ignore-global-css\"><strong class=\"ignore-global-css\"><u class=\"ignore-global-css\">Duties Include:<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ignore-global-css\">\n<li class=\"ignore-global-css\"><span class=\"ignore-global-css\">Implementing the Port Gamble shoreline restoration\/ recreation project. Managing a budget of ~ $5 million in compliance with grant agreement contracts. Supervising multiple consultant contracts and coordinating with stakeholders.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"ignore-global-css\"><span class=\"ignore-global-css\">Implementing the Tribe\u2019s other restoration projects including Shipbuilders Creek restoration, invasive species removal, riparian buffer improvement, Middle Creek restoration and others.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"ignore-global-css\"><span class=\"ignore-global-css\">Collaborating with partner organizations, government agencies and stakeholders on restoration designs and permitting.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"ignore-global-css\"><span class=\"ignore-global-css\">Procuring and contracting with consultants under the Tribe\u2019s procurement policy.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"ignore-global-css\"><span class=\"ignore-global-css\">Supervising consultant contracts for design, engineering, science, and other specialty services in line with project budgets and grant requirements.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"ignore-global-css\"><span class=\"ignore-global-css\">Managing project budgets, contracts, and invoicing in coordination with the Tribe\u2019s Accounting Department.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"ignore-global-css\"><span class=\"ignore-global-css\">Researching restoration funding opportunities and completing grant applications under the direction of the Dept Director and the Tribe\u2019s Grants Department.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"ignore-global-css\"><span class=\"ignore-global-css\">Completing grant reports and compliance monitoring in line with grant agreements.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"ignore-global-css\"><span class=\"ignore-global-css\">Supervising NR Technician in coordination with NR Department programs.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"ignore-global-css\"><span class=\"ignore-global-css\">Coordinating with the NR Department programs, other departments, and the tribal community on restoration project design, permitting and construction.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"ignore-global-css\"><span class=\"ignore-global-css\">Providing verbal reports to supervisor and Tribal Council.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"ignore-global-css\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"ignore-global-css\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"ignore-global-css\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"ignore-global-css\"><span class=\"ignore-global-css\"><strong class=\"ignore-global-css\"><u class=\"ignore-global-css\">Qualifications:<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ignore-global-css\">\n<li class=\"ignore-global-css\"><span class=\"ignore-global-css\"><strong class=\"ignore-global-css\">Education\/Experience:\u00a0<\/strong>Bachelor\u2019s degree in natural resource management, ecology, environmental science or similar field required with at least three years of relevant professional experience required. Master\u2019s degree preferred.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"ignore-global-css\"><span class=\"ignore-global-css\"><strong class=\"ignore-global-css\">Computer Skills:<\/strong>\u00a0Basic personal computer skills are required, including spreadsheet and word processing. Geospatial mapping skills are a plus.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"ignore-global-css\"><span class=\"ignore-global-css\"><strong class=\"ignore-global-css\">Other:<\/strong>\u00a0Proven ability to work with engineers, planners, scientists, permitting and grant agencies and others to resolve issues and ensure successful completion of complex restoration projects. Ability to perform multiple tasks under pressure.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"ignore-global-css\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"ignore-global-css\"><span class=\"ignore-global-css\"><strong class=\"ignore-global-css\"><u class=\"ignore-global-css\">Requirements:<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ignore-global-css\">\n<li class=\"ignore-global-css\"><span class=\"ignore-global-css\">General knowledge of environmental science, ecosystem recovery, watershed ecology and coastal processes in relation to habitat restoration projects. General knowledge of the effects of climate change and their potential to impact tribal resources.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"ignore-global-css\"><span class=\"ignore-global-css\">Familiarity with local, state and federal permits and the permit requirements of the National Historic Preservation Act and State Governor\u2019s Executive Order 21-02.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"ignore-global-css\"><span class=\"ignore-global-css\">Ability to manage complex restoration projects involving multiple stakeholders and interrelating initiatives within project schedules and on budget.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"ignore-global-css\"><span class=\"ignore-global-css\">Ability to manage large project budgets in compliance with grant agreements.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"ignore-global-css\"><span class=\"ignore-global-css\">Familiarity with current environmental and cultural resource issues and treaty right issues of concern for the Pacific Northwest Tribes, particularly those related to resources reserved through treaties with the U.S. government.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"ignore-global-css\"><span class=\"ignore-global-css\">Ability to manage, prepare and execute contractual agreements, grant applications, and project reports.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"ignore-global-css\"><span class=\"ignore-global-css\">Ability to procure, contract with and supervise contract consultants.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"ignore-global-css\"><span class=\"ignore-global-css\">Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to present complex information clearly and concisely in a variety of public forums.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"ignore-global-css\"><span class=\"ignore-global-css\">Certified SCUBA divers with requisite experience to participate in scientific diving and other duties related to subtidal biological and physical monitoring preferred but not required.
