Fellows are given the opportunity to develop their portfolios as writers and communicators, building bridges between scientific information and public understanding. Watch for fellowship openings.<\/h3>\n<p><b>Award:\u00a0<\/b>Fellows receive a $3,400 stipend and are expected to work an average of 10 hours per week remotely. Fellows are also expected to meet online regularly with WSG communications staff and to maintain consistent email contact while working offsite.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element \">\n<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n<h2>\u00a0<\/h2>\n<h2><strong>General Requirements<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"vc_row wpb_row vc_row-fluid\">\n<div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container vc_col-sm-6\">\n<div class=\"vc_column-inner\">\n<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element \">\n<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n<p><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Applicants must demonstrate strong writing skills, a good general grounding in the sciences, and an interest in marine-related science, education or policy.<\/li>\n<li>Applicants should have at least some social media experience or be interested in developing their digital content skills.<\/li>\n<li>The selection committee will consider writing samples, related experience and studies, references and the relevance of the fellowship to future career goals. Samples do not have to be from an academic source.<\/li>\n<li>References do not have to be from an academic instructor but could be from another reputable source.<\/li>\n<li>Note: Reference letters may be sent with the applications\u00a0<u>with the package<\/u>\u00a0or sent separately-either way is fine. goals.<\/li>\n<li>Two to three writing samples.<\/li>\n<li>Up to a two-page resume that includes any publications and any personal or work\/volunteer- related social media channels that you\u2019ve managed.<\/li>\n<li>One letter of reference, ideally one from a professor, instructor or academic advisor.<\/li>\n<li>Unofficial copies of undergraduate and graduate
