This <br \/>position manages and oversees the uses of CLT\u2019s public access preserves, as well as a <br \/>subset of CLT\u2019s private preserves. The Public Access Manager works closely with the <br \/>Conservation Director to ensure that conservation values are maintained, and <br \/>stewardship obligations are upheld for each assigned preserve. The Public Access <br \/>Manager also works closely with the Outreach &amp; Education Coordinator to ensure that <br \/>CLT\u2019s public programs function in a way that maintains or enhances conservation <br \/>values and community connections to preserve landscapes.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Public Access Manager is responsible for managing assigned preserves to protect, <br \/>restore, and maintain their conservation and community values primarily through duties <br \/>related to property management and maintenance, annual monitoring, infrastructure <br \/>improvement oversight, and public relations. The Public Access Manager maintains <br \/>vital relationships with partners and facilitates important communications and<br \/>negotiations to further the interests and mission of the organization. This position <br \/>requires frequent travel to assigned preserves spanning CLT\u2019s service area. <br \/>Approximately 60% of the position responsibilities are onsite, requiring physical labor, <br \/>while 40% are office administration. Workdays will include select weekends.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>CLT embodies a culture of positivity, empathy, collaboration, and gratitude that is shared by its staff and board members. The current work environment includes a hybrid work model of working from home and working from the office and\/or field while also <br \/>accommodating a flexible schedule. The successful candidate must be willing to relocate to the greater Olympia area to work in person at least one day a week with other staff members.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/strong><br \/>\u2022 Manage, maintain, and regularly inspect CLT\u2019s public access preserves as assigned. This <br \/>includes ensuring that preserves are safe and accessible; that preserves have adequate and <br \/>visible signage; that improvements and structures are maintained, including trails, <br \/>bridges, fences, culverts, and roads; and that invasive species are controlled.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Improve habitat and conservation values through the identification, coordination, and <br \/>implementation of land enhancement activities on assigned preserves in alignment with <br \/>their Stewardship Plans.<br \/>\u2022 Coordinate with Outreach &amp; Education Coordinator to identify preserve needs to support <br \/>approved events. Assist Outreach &amp; Education Coordinator with implementation of <br \/>approved events, as needed.<br \/>\u2022 Coordinate with Land Stewardship Manager to conduct and document annual monitoring <br \/>of assigned preserves, in accordance with CLT policies and procedures and LTA <br \/>Standards and Practices. <br \/>\u2022 Assist Conservation Director in identifying and implementing infrastructure improvement <br \/>projects for assigned preserves. This may include, but is not limited to, proposing <br \/>infrastructure or other site improvements to support public access goals, identifying the <br \/>scope of work to be considered, identifying the appropriate personnel to complete the <br \/>work, such as volunteers or a professional servicer, applying for permits, budgeting and <br \/>sourcing materials for improvement projects.<br \/>\u2022 Ensure that permitted activities on CLT public access preserves are compatible with the <br \/>conservation and stewardship goals.<br \/>\u2022 Document all potential property violations and\/or property management issues, inform <br \/>the Conservation Director of all serious violations and\/or potential threats, and work with <br \/>CLT staff and\/or legal counsel to resolve these issues in a timely manner.<br \/>\u2022 Maintain and update property files to document essential communications, activities, <br \/>intentions, and actions in CLT\u2019s property database; ensure recordkeeping meets CLT\u2019s <br \/>Recordkeeping Policy.<br \/>\u2022 Support and enhance CLT\u2019s volunteer programs that assist in the maintenance and <br \/>stewardship of CLT\u2019s public access preserves, through the recruitment, training, and <br \/>supervision of volunteers for property monitoring, maintenance, and land enhancement.<br \/>\u2022 Operate CLT equipment and tools to complete land management activities. This includes <br \/>power equipment such as a flail mower, chainsaw, weed whacker, brush cutter, as well as <br \/>an array of hand tools.<br \/>\u2022 Other duties as assigned.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong>:<br \/>\u2022 An undergraduate degree in a related field, such as conservation, recreation, botany, <br \/>biology, ecology, natural resource management, environmental studies, or comparable <br \/>professional training and experience.<br \/>\u2022 Strong project management skills and attention to detail.<br \/>\u2022 Technical competency with GIS, GIS online, GPS and data management.<br \/>\u2022 Excellent communication skills, including written, graphic, verbal and listening.<br \/>\u2022 Ability to work independently and be self-directed, and work collaboratively and <br \/>effectively as part of a team.<br \/>\u2022 Able to work occasional evenings and weekends, as needed.<br \/>\u2022 Physically able to conduct strenuous outdoor fieldwork in all weather conditions, traverse <br \/>through rough and steep terrain, and operate power tools.<br \/>\u2022 Valid Washington State driver\u2019s license and access to a reliable vehicle.<br \/>\u2022 Knowledge of ecological restoration and land enhancement techniques<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Knowledge of Washington flora, fauna, and geography.<br \/>\u2022 Commitment to the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>BENEFITS<\/strong>:<br \/>CLT offers a comprehensive benefits package and a supportive and positive work <br \/>environment with opportunities for professional development.
