{"id":54940,"date":"2024-12-17T16:40:20","date_gmt":"2024-12-18T00:40:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/?p=54940"},"modified":"2024-12-17T16:40:20","modified_gmt":"2024-12-18T00:40:20","slug":"volunteer-amphibian-egg-mass-monitoring-skagit-land-trust-and-the-woodland-park-zoo-skagit-county-wa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/volunteer-amphibian-egg-mass-monitoring-skagit-land-trust-and-the-woodland-park-zoo-skagit-county-wa\/","title":{"rendered":"Volunteer: Amphibian Egg Mass Monitoring, Skagit Land Trust and the Woodland Park Zoo (Skagit County, WA)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center\"><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">Amphibian Egg Mass Monitoring &#8211; Skagit County<\/span><\/h1>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">We are seeking volunteers for an amphibian monitoring project through Skagit Land Trust and the Woodland Park Zoo<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Must be able to:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Travel to a wetland in Skagit County once a month<br \/>&#8211; Join a team (of 3 to 6 people) to monitor one wetland\/pond once a month for six to seven months.<br \/>&#8211; Spend approximately a half to a full day in the field each month plus data entry time<br \/>&#8211; Hike to the predetermined site and wade into water (up to 3 feet deep)<br \/>&#8211; Use smart phone to enter data while surveying<br \/>&#8211; Enter data monthly using an online form and the iNaturalist website<\/p>\n<p>All training and equipment will be provided by the WPZ and Skagit Land Trust. Online training begins soon, and monitoring starts at the end of January and continues through summer.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">There is no formal application process since it is a volunteer run program, however, there is a training that volunteers go through.
