This position is also responsible for community outreach efforts and efforts serving youth outside of the 4-H club system. This oversight includes the development and implementation of programs and activities within the policies and procedures of\u00a0WSU\u00a0Extension, and specifically, 4-H programming under the direction of the 4-H Youth Development Faculty and the State 4-H Associate Director.<\/p>\n<p><br \/><b>Required Qualifications:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>A Bachelor\u2019s degree in a relevant extension program discipline and two (2) years of related program experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; demonstrated work experience using these programs.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>While using a private vehicle for official business, the successful candidate must have current automobile liability insurance (meeting the requirements described in\u00a0RCW\u00a046.30.020 and\u00a0RCW\u00a046.29.090).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>\u00a0Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver\u2019s license and meet requirements in accordance with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/policies.wsu.edu\/prf\/index\/manuals\/safety-policies-procedures-manual\/sppm-7-10\/#four_3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SPPM 7.10<\/a>\u00a0and departmental driving standards.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Ability to work flexible work hours that include frequent evenings and weekends.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Ability to work year around in a variety of outdoor weather conditions.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Competency in using electronic communication methods and equipment for extension education and daily work activities.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Must successfully pass a background check.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><b>Preferred Qualifications:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>Experience in volunteer management (i.e. recruitment, placement, education and recognition) and volunteerism.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Knowledge of, and\/or experience with, 4-H youth development programs. Experience and ability to work as a team member with staff and volunteers.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Strong demonstrated written skills requiring limited editing and supervision in preparing reports, evaluations, press releases, synthesis of a broad range of materials, and effective written conveyance of program information to the public and program participants.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Experience developing curriculum.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Strong demonstrated verbal communication and listening skills: public speaking, effective conveyance of program information to the public, program participants, and decision-makers.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Experience working\/collaborating with multiple public agencies, NGOs, and individuals in partnerships.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Experience in leadership, and the ability to work and think independently.
