The first webinar in this series will<br \/>feature community wildfire resilience coordinators<br \/>from fire departments across the country.<br \/>Learn where you could go in your career and how to<br \/>get there.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/us02web.zoom.us\/meeting\/register\/tZIqfuisqjsoH9HPRzTeLN2Svw5thghjGF34#\/registration\">Register<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Who should participate:<\/strong> Undergraduate students, graduate students, early career<br \/>professionals, folks interested in changing careers should all feel encouraged to<br \/>join.<\/p>\n<p><br \/><strong>What will we cover?:<\/strong> In this first installment in the series, we will focus on<br \/>community wildfire resilience work. Each of our presenters spends their days at<br \/>the interface between landscape management, structure resilience, and<br \/>community capacity for prevention, evacuation, and recovery. We will hear about<br \/>the day-to-day of working with community and agency partners to protect<br \/>communities vulnerable to wildfire risk.<\/p>\n<p><br \/><strong>Will there be more sessions?:<\/strong> This is part of a three-part series in which we\u2019ll hear<br \/>from professionals in a number of wildfire adaptation fields. In this series, we welcome students, early\/transitioning professionals, and anyone else interested to learn about the diverse and rewarding career pathways in this field including community coordinators, prescribed fire and landscape treatment, non-profit and local government positions and more.<\/p>\n<p>In the first installment of this series, we will hear from people working in &#8220;Wildland Urban Interface&#8221; coordination through local fire departments. Chris Chambers (Ashland Fire and Rescue), Justice Jones (Austin Fire Department), and Danielle McNutt (City of Boulder Fire-Rescue), will present about their roles, their pathways to get there, and other useful tips for aspiring WUI Coordinators.
