Join Friends of the Columbia Gorge for the premiere of \u201cThe Wildflower Woman<\/strong>,\u201d a short film directed by Friends\u2019 Digital Content Producer Monique Trevett that celebrates the legacy of Columbia Gorge conservation icon Barbara Robinson.<\/p>\nThe film follows Robinson as she revisits various eras of her life\u2019s work preserving and restoring fragile and ecologically important lands in the National Scenic Area, including the from-her-own-pocket purchase of Tom McCall Preserve in the 1970s, founding the Klickitat Trail Conservancy, landscaping the Columbia Gorge Discovery Center & Museum with native plants, and spreading balsamroot seed across the Gorge. Through the film, we hope to shine a light on the life and contributions of one of the preeminent Gorge conservationists to inspire future generations to follow in her footsteps.<\/p>\n
We’ll gather at 11 a.m. to join Barbara Robinson for a stewardship event at the Discovery Center to plant wildflowers and remove invasives and other weeds. If you prefer to skip this, please arrive at 12 p.m. for the film and a taco bar lunch.<\/p>\n
