The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has an exciting opportunity within our Washington Geological Survey. We are looking for a self-motivated, experienced, and enthusiastic\u00a0geologist<\/strong>\u00a0with a passion for post-wildfire landslide hazards to join a new program within the Survey. The Post Wildfire Debris Flow Program will fill a critical need in Washington for assessment of landslide hazards in areas affected by wildfires. This position will plan and lead post-wildfire emergency assessments of geologic and hydrologic hazards,\u00a0install\u00a0and maintain post-fire monitoring equipment, and develop pre- and post-wildfire geologic and hydrologic maps and models for planning purposes. This position also provides technical assistance to local and state agencies regarding planning and mitigating post-wildfire geologic and hydrologic hazards. This position would have a mix of field time and office-based GIS mapping. This is one of two positions we are currently looking to fill for the post-wildfire debris flow team.\u00a0 If you enjoy teamwork, are eager to collaborate with local, state, and federal partners, and have a deep interest in post-fire hazards and their impact on communities, you would be a perfect fit for this position.
