We unite and amplify our partners\u2019 voices by strengthening policy and funding around conservation, habitat, and access.\u202f\u202f\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>TRCP\u00a0seeks\u00a0a\u00a0thoughtful\u00a0and strategic\u00a0individual to serve\u00a0as its\u00a0Alaska Senior Program Manager\u00a0who will\u00a0be\u00a0responsible for\u00a0overseeing and implementing\u00a0the organization\u2019s conservation and access priorities\u00a0in\u00a0Alaska.\u00a0This individual will\u00a0be responsible for\u00a0building and\u00a0maintaining\u00a0relationships with hunting and fishing leaders, elected decision\u00a0makers, agency staff, and rural and Alaska Native community leaders. The Alaska Senior Program Manager will additionally fundraise and oversee project\u00a0consultants, while helping TRCP navigate often-complex natural resource management issues in Alaska for the benefit of\u00a0fish and wildlife and hunters\u00a0and anglers.\u00a0Conservation priorities in Alaska include the\u00a0Tongass\u00a0National Forest plan revision and the Hunters\u00a0&amp;\u00a0Anglers for the Brooks Range campaign.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The TRCP offers a generous benefits package including health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401k, cell phone and home internet reimbursement, and ample paid time off.\u202f\u202f\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><b>Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:<\/b>\u202f\u202f\u202f\u00a0<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Work closely with the\u00a0Deputy Director of Forest Policy and NW Conservation, VP of Western Conservation,\u00a0and\u00a0the Chief Conservation Officer\u00a0to\u00a0maintain\u00a0and build TRCP\u2019s Alaska program into the future.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage and implement TRCP\u2019s existing conservation campaigns, including the\u00a0Tongass\u00a0National Forest plan revision and Hunters\u00a0&amp;\u00a0Anglers for the Brooks Range.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Work\u00a0cooperatively with\u00a0Alaska\u00a0hunting and angling organizations, business leaders, and\u00a0hunt-fish\u00a0thought leaders\u00a0to advance\u00a0policies that\u00a0conserve\u00a0our fish and wildlife resources and outdoor heritage.\u202f\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Build and\u00a0maintain\u00a0working relationships with state and federal agencies, the\u00a0Alaska\u00a0congressional delegation,\u00a0Alaska Native\u00a0tribes and\u00a0corporations,\u00a0conservation groups,\u00a0and community leaders to successfully navigate conservation outcomes.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Work with partners to develop and\u00a0submit\u00a0comment letters and to testify on important agency actions.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Work with the TRCP\u2019s communications staff\u00a0and consultants\u00a0to generate strategically\u00a0appropriate press\u00a0coverage and to communicate with our members and the public electronically.\u202f\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>When possible, serve on relevant federal, state, or local advisory groups\/\u00a0councils\/boards.\u202f\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Work\u00a0with TRCP\u2019s development team\u00a0to ensure financial support for\u00a0TRCP\u2019s Alaska Program, including\u00a0funder relations,\u00a0tracking of grant deliverables,\u00a0and the development of grant reports.\u202f\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Other duties as assigned.\u202f\u202f\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><b>Minimum\u00a0Requirements:<\/b>\u202f\u202f\u202f\u00a0<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>A bachelor\u2019s degree in a relevant field and\u00a05+ years of\u00a0professional\u00a0experience in natural resource issues\u00a0or policy.\u202f\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Established relationships within\u00a0Alaska\u00a0and understanding of\u00a0how to effectively influence conservation policy.\u202f\u202f\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Appreciation for\u00a0conservation and\u00a0the landscapes and values of\u00a0Alaska.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to build &amp;\u00a0maintain\u00a0strong working relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders and partners, including subsistence\u00a0harvesters, resident hunters and anglers,\u00a0and\u00a0non-resident\u00a0sportsmen\u00a0and\u00a0sportswomen.\u202f\u202f\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Detailed knowledge of\u00a0state and federal\u00a0lands\u00a0and the Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The ability to understand nuance and effectively handle complex situations.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Passion\u00a0for fish and wildlife and an interest in hunting and\/or fishing.\u202f\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong communications and writing skills.\u202f\u202f\u202f\u202f\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to work independently and coordinate multiple priorities within a diverse project and policy portfolio.\u202f\u202f\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Willingness and ability to travel across the state\/valid\u00a0driver\u2019s\u00a0license.\u202f\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong initiative, enthusiasm, and willingness to pitch in whenever needed.\u202f\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><i>Submission must include a cover letter\u00a0and resume\u00a0to be considered.\u202f<\/i>\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><i>The position is open until filled.
