This position serves as the principal assistant with delegated authority performing administrative support duties for the Deputy Supervisor for Forest Resilience, Regulation, and Aquatic Resources Divisions. The position reports directly to the Deputy and is part of the Executive Assistant Team within the Office of the Commissioner.\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/dd>\n<dt>\n<h2>Duties<\/h2>\n<\/dt>\n<dd>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provides confidential administrative support to the Deputy and their team.<\/li>\n<li>Effectively coordinates executive calendaring and meeting management.<\/li>\n<li>Oversees the day-to-day operations in clerical and general matters, and is responsible for determining administrative practices and methods for the most efficient office procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinates, edits, and proofreads various types of publications, presentations, and correspondence.<\/li>\n<li>Tracks deadlines and assignments; prioritizing incoming and outgoing requests. Coordinates with agency staff as needed to ensure completion of assignments in a timely manner.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinates all aspects of travel arrangements to include detailed itineraries.<\/li>\n<li>Respond to public disclosure requests and ensure compliance with agency and state retention schedules.<\/li>\n<li>Acts as the division liaison, conferring with agency staff and stakeholders regarding the interpretation and implementation of division policies; participates in establishing communication protocols and identifying areas for division development.<\/li>\n<li>Plans, evaluates, and consults with staff and stakeholders to identify problems, explore solutions and alternatives, and recommend solutions designed to meet the goals and objectives of the division services, programs, and projects.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/dd>\n<dt>\n<h2>\u00a0<\/h2>\n<h2>\u00a0<\/h2>\n<h2>Qualifications<\/h2>\n<\/dt>\n<dd>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Five years of administrative experience, preferably with three at the senior assistant level;<\/li>\n<li>Working knowledge of state government operations;<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in the use of Windows Office Suite;<\/li>\n<li>Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to multi-task, prioritize work for self, balance workload, meet short deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work with sensitive information, public policy, and personnel issues while maintaining confidentiality;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to anticipate executive needs, work well in stressful situations, and respond appropriately to emergencies;<\/li>\n<li>Experience preparing high-level documents, spreadsheets, and presentations;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to comprehend and interpret complex discussions and independently compose clear, accurate, and concise notes.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to maintain effective working relationships within the division, other DNR divisions and regions, other government entities, and the public.<\/li>\n<li>Understand the organizational structure of DNR and the mission and functions of the department.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain confidentiality.<\/li>\n<li>Use diplomacy.<\/li>\n<li>DNR Core Competencies:\n<ul>\n<li>Personal Accountability<\/li>\n<li>Value Others<\/li>\n<li>Compassionate Communication<\/li>\n<li>Inspire Others<\/li>\n<li>Commitment to Excellence<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<strong>Special Requirements and Conditions of Employment:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>This position is both an in-home and office setting located at the Natural Resources Building, in Olympia, WA.
