Applications accepted until position is filled.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Position Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Outreach and Events Coordinator supports Snohomish Conservation District\u2019s community engagement strategies by producing and managing high-quality virtual and in-person events, including webinars, farm tours, fairs, workshops, and more. This role engages the community and encourages conservation through strategic events produced by SCD and with partner organizations.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>The position is part of the Education and Outreach Team which provides education, outreach, and communications support to all District programs\u2013including Agriculture, Habitat, Community Conservation, and District Operations. This position will report to the Education and Outreach Department Manager.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>About the Snohomish Conservation District<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>One of 45\u00a0conservation\u00a0districts in the State of Washington, the Snohomish Conservation District is a leader among peers with robust agricultural resilience, habitat restoration, urban stormwater, farm planning, youth education, and community engagement programs. The District works with farmers, city residents, and rural and suburban landowners on a collaborative and voluntary basis throughout our service area\u00a0which\u00a0includes most of Snohomish County and Camano Island. We take the mission of the District to heart\u2014\u201cwork cooperatively with others to promote and encourage conservation and responsible use of natural resources\u201d\u2014as we implement successful and innovative approaches to getting real work done\u00a0on-the-ground.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/dd>\n<dt>\n<h2>\u00a0<\/h2>\n<h2>Duties<\/h2>\n<\/dt>\n<dd>\n<p><strong>Primary Job Responsibilities\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Below are illustrations of the various types of work performed. The Outreach and Events Coordinator will lead the following tasks:\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Coordinate all aspects of Snohomish Conservation District outreach events, including scheduling,\u00a0registration, communication\u00a0with participants, set-up and tear-down, and event evaluation.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate district-wide participation in regional and partner events, such as fairs, Country Living Expo,\u00a0Focus on Farming, and Sorticulture.<\/li>\n<li>Foster positive community partnerships and coordinate partner engagement in events, including as speakers, tabling, and\/or co-hosting. Ensure events fulfill partner and funder goals and\u00a0deliverables.<\/li>\n<li>Support Communications staff in\u00a0writing articles\u00a0and social media posts,\u00a0providing copy for press releases, and capturing photos.<\/li>\n<li>Develop and coordinate successful community outreach campaigns and behavior change programs in partnership with the Communications staff.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/dd>\n<dt>\n<h2>\u00a0<\/h2>\n<h2>Qualifications<\/h2>\n<\/dt>\n<dd>\n<p><u><strong>Required knowledge, skills, and abilities<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n<p>An Associate\u2019s or Bachelor\u2019s degree in marketing, communications, business, environmental science, or a related field; and three years of relevant professional experience. Experience in the job functions listed may substitute for education.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience in developing outreach strategies for the public\u2013including urban\/rural residents, underserved communities, farmers, and\/or other stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Ability to engage with the public in a professional, friendly manner<\/li>\n<li>Extremely organized and able to manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines<\/li>\n<li>Ability to create engaging and accessible presentations in written, visual, and verbal formats<\/li>\n<li>Proficient in Zoom and other virtual meeting and webinar platforms<\/li>\n<li>Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills<\/li>\n<li>Strong project management skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to build relationships with diverse community members and partners<\/li>\n<li>Highly dependable and accountable to deadlines and team members. Able to work collaboratively to accomplish shared tasks and support program staff.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><u><strong>Preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Knowledge and experience in a conservation or natural resource field, such as habitat restoration, community gardening, agriculture, forestry, or stormwater management<\/li>\n<li>Experience in project management software such as Smartsheet<\/li>\n<li>Spanish language proficiency<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<br \/><u><strong>Physical Requirements and Working Conditions<\/strong><\/u>\n<p>This position includes primarily office and some field work, with regular travel to sites around Snohomish County and Camano Island for events. Some events may be held in a\u00a0natural\u00a0environment with rough terrain.\u00a0This position requires the ability to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Remain in a stationary position\u00a0for long periods of time in a standard workday.<\/li>\n<li>Work outdoors in all weather conditions and on rough or uneven terrain.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to move equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to set up and tear down event supplies, including tents and tables.<\/li>\n<li>Drive a District vehicle when travel is needed. Must hold a valid, unrestricted Washington State driver\u2019s license (or have the ability to acquire upon hire).<\/li>\n<li>Occasionally work on evenings and weekends.<\/li>\n<li>Comply with District COVID protection protocols, including being fully vaccinated and boosted unless medically unable to do so, and providing documentation of vaccination status.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/dd>\n<dt>\n<h2>\u00a0<\/h2>\n<h2>Supplemental Information<\/h2>\n<\/dt>\n<dd>\n<p><strong>Benefits<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The District offers a comprehensive benefits package which includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Medical, including vision, insurance premium coverage through Washington State PEBB at 100% for full-time employees. The District covers employees premiums up to 100% and matches employee dependent\u2019s medical premiums at 80%.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Dental insurance coverage through Washington State PEBB for full-time employees.
