Our programming focuses on the Montessori method to implement hands-on, experiential learning in an outdoor setting. We believe that all children should have the opportunity to feel comfortable and confident in the outdoors, no matter their socio-economic background.<\/p>\n<p>About the Role: Each week the schedule is unique to the needs of the visiting school. The Environmental Educators main focus is on the visiting students by preparing and implementing curriculum and activities, entertaining, and giving continuous energy and guidance to the students, while keeping them safe. The Environmental Educator reports to the Education Director.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Researching, creating, preparing and implementing curriculum.<\/li>\n<li>Solely manage groups of up to 12 students.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and lead large group discussions on various topics.<\/li>\n<li>General entertainment such as: leading songs or games.<\/li>\n<li>Continued education on relevant nature-based topics.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Candidate Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be self-driven and motivated to accomplish tasks with limited direct supervision.<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to lift, bend, squat, stand for long periods of time and walk up to 5 miles per day.<\/li>\n<li>Must be outgoing, comfortable initiating conversations and speaking in front of large groups of students.<\/li>\n<li>Previous teaching or camp experience preferred.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"job-frame__how-to-apply\">\n<div class=\"job-frame__how-to-apply__title\">HOW TO APPLY<\/div>\n<p>Email your resume and interests to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:Britta@Discovernci.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Britta@Discovernci.org<\/a>\u00a0.
