As our new supervisor, you will take on a large degree of responsibility for the programs, infrastructure, and skilled staff that are essential to the provision of safe, reliable drinking water. In this highly collaborative role, you will work closely with line-of-business partners and a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders to accomplish City and Department goals, establish policies and procedures, and advocate for the priorities of Water Quality operations.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/><em>This is a full-time on-site position. Some telecommuting may be possible on an ad hoc basis.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/dd>\n<dt>\n<h2>\u00a0<\/h2>\n<h2>\u00a0<\/h2>\n<h2>ROLE &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES<\/h2>\n<\/dt>\n<dd>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure regulatory compliance with all applicable water monitoring and reporting requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Oversee the maintenance, operations, and repair of well, treatment, booster station, and reservoir equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Supervise the administration of the City\u2019s Cross Connection Control Program.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate closely with internal partners from the Water Operations Division, Utility Engineering, Capital Projects, Utility Billing, Technology Information Services (TIS,) and others.<\/li>\n<li>Day to day supervision, coaching, and recruitment of staff.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/dd>\n<dt>\n<h2>\u00a0<\/h2>\n<h2>QUALIFICATIONS<\/h2>\n<\/dt>\n<dd>\n<p><strong>Education, Experience and Other Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Three years experience in water operations, public works operations, or related area<\/li>\n<li>Supervisory experience, team lead experience, or demonstrated leadership experience preferred.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree preferred.<\/li>\n<li>Any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\u00a0<strong>Licenses and Certificates:<\/strong><br \/>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Valid Washington State Driver\u2019s License and a driving record that meets city standard<\/li>\n<li>Certification by the Department of Health as a Water Distribution Manager IV (WDM 4) (required by WAC 246-290) \u2013 preferred if assigned to the water division.
