Established in 2006 by the Legislature, our council plays a pivotal role in providing policy-level direction and fostering communication among agencies and organizations dedicated to combating invasive species. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to contribute to crucial goals while gaining valuable experience in public outreach and engagement related to invasive species. Responsibilities include updating information on our mobile app and website, assisting in content development for public awareness materials, and engaging with natural resource professionals to showcase your achievements. If you are a current student eager to make a difference in invasive species prevention and education, we encourage you to apply and be part of our dynamic team.\u00a0\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/dd>\n<dt>\n<h2>\u00a0<\/h2>\n<h2>Duties<\/h2>\n<\/dt>\n<dd>\n<p><strong>The Work You Will Enjoy Doing Includes<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Learn about council&#8217;s priority species and selection process.<\/li>\n<li>Research priority species and other species of concern for content updates.<\/li>\n<li>Gain knowledge in taxonomy, biology, and Washington status of priority species.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in updating invasive species info on mobile app by interacting with the software developers and communicating changes.<\/li>\n<li>Make corresponding changes on the council&#8217;s website when possible.<\/li>\n<li>Aid in content development for public awareness materials.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in outreach campaigns and develop related materials.<\/li>\n<li>Engage in professional development through interaction with natural resource professionals; culminating in a capstone presentation or project.<\/li>\n<li><em>Other duties as needed.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/dd>\n<dt>\n<h2>\u00a0<\/h2>\n<h2>Qualifications<\/h2>\n<\/dt>\n<dd>\n<p><strong><u>What You Need To Qualify:\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Currently enrolled in an educational (such as associate\u2019s, bachelor\u2019s, or graduate) program in biological, environmental, or physical science, education, communications, or closely related field.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Ability to synthesize and convey complex scientific content to a wide array of audiences, ranging from K-8 to adult reading level.
