To be successful in this role, you must be a creative thinker, and be comfortable spending long periods of time entering data into spreadsheets.<\/p>\n<br \/><strong>What you will do:<\/strong>\u00a0<br \/><br \/>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Serve as senior environmental specialist responsible for independently implementing the Annual Report and Annual Recycling Survey Process as required by Chapter 70.95 RCW, the Solid Waste Management Act by performing scientific studies, surveys, and analysis. \u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Train other staff to enter solid waste data into a facilities data system, and interpret solid waste data for the annual report. \u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Plan, develop, research, and conduct data collection; use scientific analyses to determine effective methods and practices related to resource management. \u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Revise forms and notification letters and work with IT application developers to develop and modify online reporting system, including revising online forms. \u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate the notification process for reports and surveys to all solid waste facilities and recyclers, enter recycling annual report data into the Solid Waste Facilities Database, when online reporting cannot be completed by a facility, and update facility information as needed. \u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Calculate the state&#8217;s recycling and diversion rates. \u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Prepare focus sheets and draft press releases. \u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Communicate with all interested parties and program staff regarding solid waste data.
