This position is responsible for reviewing documentation submitted by businesses that are required to report under dangerous waste rules for accuracy and completeness.<br \/>\u00a0You will also actively assist the Hazardous Waste Generation Fee Administrator in the collection of the Hazardous Waste Generation fee. In this position, you will respond to and process various notifications and dangerous waste annual reports. To do this, you will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure the Notifications and Dangerous Waste Annual \u00a0reports meet regulatory reporting requirements and include descriptive information about various waste activities at facilities.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Enter information from the Notifications and Dangerous Waste Annual reports into Ecology\u2019s data system.<\/li>\n<li>Provide technical and regulatory assistance to businesses.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Help businesses gain access to Ecology\u2019s online reporting system.<\/li>\n<li>Use technical writing skills and scientific knowledge of program activities to periodically review and update reporting forms, publications, and web content.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Respond to inquiries from the public related dangerous waste in their communities, including researching a response and\/or referring callers to other resources.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\nBusinesses that generate any quantity of hazardous waste are required to pay the annual Hazardous Waste Generation Fee. In this position you will respond to phone calls and emails from businesses regarding this fee. To do this, you will:<br \/>\n<ul>\n<li>Research statutory and regulatory requirements found in WAC 173-305, and administrative policies and procedures to have a general understanding of these requirements, policies, and procedures.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Explain these requirements, policies, and procedures to businesses via phone and email. When questions are more complex, seek guidance from higher level staff.<\/li>\n<li>Process waiver and exemption requests by reviewing business types for possible exclusion from the fee.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Research undeliverable mail and provide updated address information for data entry into the Generation Fee system. \u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\nRespond to public notices and disclosure requests, maintain the central file area, and support publication activities.\u00a0To do this, you will:<br \/>\n<ul>\n<li>Respond to requests for information and publications.<\/li>\n<li>Review draft publications.<\/li>\n<li>File reports.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<strong>Why join our team?<\/strong>\u00a0This is a fast-paced work environment.
