Help us manage state-owned aquatic lands so that our aquatic resources thrive, businesses grow, waterfront public access is provided, and salmon are preserved in perpetuity.<br \/><br \/>We are looking for a critical thinker with proficient soft skills who is flexible in decision-making. The ideal candidate is able to work with internal and external issues in an active, respectful, and professional manner. The Aquatics Land Manager, Rivers District manages, protects, and restores 28 counties in southwestern and eastern Washington State.<br \/><br \/>The Land Manager, at this time, generally works in our aquaculture-designated service area and plays a key role in maintaining an inclusive and respectful work environment while working with internal employees, individual citizens, private industry, Tribes, government agencies, and other entities to ensure resources are managed to preserve ecological and economic viability, including clean-up, pollution prevention, habitat conservation and protection, restoration, and assessment of proper use of state-owned aquatic lands. This is accomplished primarily through\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dnr.wa.gov\/programs-and-services\/aquatics\/leasing-and-land-transactions\">aquatic land leasing<\/a>.\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/dd>\n<dt>\n<h2>\u00a0<\/h2>\n<h2>\u00a0<\/h2>\n<h2>Duties<\/h2>\n<\/dt>\n<dd>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Negotiate and prepare land use authorizations (leases, easements, and other agreements) with a focus on aquaculture. Most fieldwork involves being on or near the water with the risk of falling in (the use of personal floatation devices is mandatory in such locations.) Most fieldwork involves driving, often on congested roads with a high volume of traffic.<\/li>\n<li>Travel may be required to locations within the District or Olympia. Most travel is by car. Most travel required less than two concurrent nights away. Overnight travel is generally less than two nights a month.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>A valid unrestricted driver\u2019s license and have two years of driving experience. This position requires driving as an essential function.
