This position is located in our\u00a0<strong>Headquarters Office<\/strong>\u00a0in\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ci.lacey.wa.us\/\">Lacey, WA.<\/a>\u00a0Upon hire, you must live within a commutable distance from the duty station.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>As the Headquarters Cleanup Section Senior Environmental Planner, you will be responsible for planning, engagement, involvement, and collaboration with stakeholders, environmental groups, local governments, and tribal governments, specifically on cleanup projects managed by the section, including Department of Defense (DoD) sites and Puget Sound Initiative (PSI) Cleanup Sites and Bays. You\u2019ll identify, plan for, and develop solutions to issues involving cleanups so that the cleanup process may proceed as efficiently and effectively as possible.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>In this role, you\u2019ll also work to ensure that cultural resource policies, procedures, and guidance for the program, the Department of Ecology, and the State at large, are implemented expediently and accurately at cleanup sites. You\u2019ll oversee planning engagement, involvement and collaboration with environmental groups, local governments, and tribal governments on cleanup sites with the Puget Sound Initiative and Bays. You\u2019ll educate and communicate with local governments regarding remedial action grant laws, rules and guidance. In addition to these myriad functions, you\u2019ll also plan and manage Inter-Agency Agreements, ensuring consistency and implementation, as well as lead strategic planning and project management for certain contractual agreements including public, stakeholder, and tribal involvement efforts.<br \/><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><br \/><strong>What you will do:<\/strong><br \/>\n<ul>\n<li>Coordinate meetings and engage with stakeholders on site cleanups projects. Develop and implement strategic and operational approaches to conducting stakeholder and tribal engagement for bay-wide cleanup and restoration projects,\u00a0Department of Defense (DoD)\u00a0sites, and other cleanup projects.<\/li>\n<li>Arrange and oversee public involvement activities and outreach. \u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Develop presentations and assists with technical writing of documents.<\/li>\n<li>Plan and coordinate the section\u2019s State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) requirements to ensure that SEPA processes are followed for projects.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Plan and manage section Inter-Agency Agreements for consistency and implementation. Aid site managers with contracts for site cleanup projects. Lead strategic planning and project management for certain contractual agreements.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure the section follows Environmental Justice initiatives and Title VI, and meets Healthy Environment for All (HEAL) Act requirements in cleanup projects.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that projects are in alignment with Environmental Justice Community Engagement Plan and Tribal Engagement and Consultation Plan. \u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Track cultural resource needs for the section, coordinate meetings with tribes and Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation (DAHP).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<br \/>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/dd>\n<dt>\n<h2>Qualifications<\/h2>\n<\/dt>\n<dd>\n<p><strong><u>Required Qualifications:<\/u><\/strong><br \/>Years of required experience indicated below are full-time equivalent years. Full-time equivalent experience means that any experience where working hours were less than 40 hours per week will be prorated in order to meet the equivalency of full-time. We would calculate this by looking at the total hours worked per week, divide this by 40, and then multiply by the total number of months worked. Examples of the proration calculations are:<br \/><br \/><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>30 hours worked per week for 20 months: (30\/40) x 20 months = 15 months full-time equivalent<\/li>\n<li>20 hours worked per week for 12 months: (20\/40) x 12 months = 6 months full-time equivalent<\/li>\n<\/ul>\nExperience for both required and desired qualifications can be gained through various combinations of formal professional employment, education, and volunteer experience.
