Through our programs, students explore the outdoors, connect with their peers, discover themselves and develop a lasting relationship with science and the environment around them.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"ignore-global-css\"><span class=\"ignore-global-css\"><strong class=\"ignore-global-css\">Tasks and functions<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"ignore-global-css\"><span class=\"ignore-global-css\">During Program:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ignore-global-css\">\n<li class=\"ignore-global-css\"><span class=\"ignore-global-css\">Use a student-centered approach to lead participants through multi-day, hands-on, experiential and investigative learning in outdoor settings.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"ignore-global-css\"><span class=\"ignore-global-css\">Cultivate an inclusive learning environment by delivering culturally relevant content that presents multiple perspectives and connects to students\u2019 background.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"ignore-global-css\"><span class=\"ignore-global-css\">Create and lead differentiated programming, including 2-3 evening programs a week, that honor the needs and backgrounds of each group of participants.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"ignore-global-css\"><span class=\"ignore-global-css\">Manage students\u2019 physical safety in outdoor settings using sound judgment and applying appropriate risk management decisions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"ignore-global-css\"><span class=\"ignore-global-css\">Work to support an inclusive workplace community by establishing and maintaining respectful, supportive, and compassionate relationships with staff and participants.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"ignore-global-css\"><span class=\"ignore-global-css\">Outside of Program:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ignore-global-css\">\n<li class=\"ignore-global-css\"><span class=\"ignore-global-css\">Participate in continuous professional development, as well as personal and professional goal-setting.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"ignore-global-css\"><span class=\"ignore-global-css\">Keep records and assessments of student experiences in order to provide insight on student learning and program outcomes, as well as to share stories from the field with staff, board members and donors.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"ignore-global-css\"><span class=\"ignore-global-css\">For those in provided housing, follow NatureBridge housing policies and work agreements; cultivate a respectful home environment by setting and being accountable to agreements and boundaries among housemates.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"ignore-global-css\"><span class=\"ignore-global-css\">Fulfill other duties as assigned, such as supporting kitchen and facilities staff, donor engagement events, program support tasks, providing feedback on special projects and participating in campus stewardship.<\/span><span class=\"ignore-global-css\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"ignore-global-css\"><span class=\"ignore-global-css\"><strong class=\"ignore-global-css\">NatureBridge Educator Schedule &#8211;\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><a class=\"ignore-global-css\" href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/0VkNdaAazI8\"><span class=\"ignore-global-css\"><strong class=\"ignore-global-css\"><u class=\"ignore-global-css\">Video: A Day in the Life of an Educator<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/h3>\n<p class=\"ignore-global-css\"><span class=\"ignore-global-css\">Environmental Science Educator (ESE) schedule varies week-to-week. ESEs can expect to deliver environmental science and team-building programs from 9am &#8211; 4pm for 3-5 day programs Monday &#8211; Friday, with variability during schools\u2019 arrival and departure days. ESEs also run evening programs 2-3 times a week from 6:30pm &#8211; 8:30pm. On a regular program day, the ESE receives up to 30 minutes of paid preparation time. ESEs attend regular meetings with other ESEs, the education manager, and operations team to discuss program updates and collaborative feedback to the community workplace. We especially encourage you to apply if you have lived experience as a member of (and\/or extensive experience working with people from) any communities that are impacted by the historic and current system of oppression that has limited access to environmental education, or the outdoors in general.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"ignore-global-css\">\n<p class=\"ignore-global-css\" dir=\"ltr\">The ability to communicate clearly to different stakeholders, including students, coworkers, supervisors, and educational partners.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"ignore-global-css\">\n<p class=\"ignore-global-css\" dir=\"ltr\">A desire to learn and grow, and an openness to feedback and coaching.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"ignore-global-css\">\n<p class=\"ignore-global-css\" dir=\"ltr\">A valid Wilderness First Responder Certification or a willingness to attain the certification prior to the start date.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"ignore-global-css\">\n<p class=\"ignore-global-css\" dir=\"ltr\">The ability and willingness to perform physically challenging work outdoors and in all weather conditions on uneven terrain; able to hike 5-7 miles in uneven terrain<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"ignore-global-css\">\n<p class=\"ignore-global-css\" dir=\"ltr\">A bachelors degree or equivalent education, training, or experience in science, environmental or multidisciplinary studies, or a relevant field.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"ignore-global-css\">\n<p class=\"ignore-global-css\" dir=\"ltr\">Ability to work flexible hours and split shifts, including evenings and occasional weekends.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"ignore-global-css\" dir=\"ltr\">*All NatureBridge Employees are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
