In addition to building, maintaining, and operating the state highway system, WSDOT operates the largest ferry system in the nation, manages the world&#8217;s longest floating bridge, and recently completed the world&#8217;s widest tunneling project.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/><strong>The Opportunity<\/strong><br \/>WSDOT\u2019s Public Transportation Division is currently seeking a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ofm.wa.gov\/state-human-resources\/compensation-job-classes\/ClassifiedJobListing\/Specifications\/380\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Transportation Planning Specialist 3<\/a>\u00a0to serve as the Employee Transportation Coordinator. This position will increase WSDOT employees\u2019 use of non-drive alone modes for commute and business purposes; support employee productivity, retention, and satisfaction; and engage and support WSDOT&#8217;s regional employee transportation coordinators, human resources staff, and others. The top candidate will lead WSDOT\u2019s statewide employee transportation program: WSDOT\u2019s internal commute trip reduction (CTR) program and its statewide internal telework, compressed work week, and flexible scheduling efforts.<br \/><br \/><strong>What to Expect<\/strong><br \/>Among the varied range of responsibilities held within this role, the\u00a0Employee Transportation Coordinator\u00a0will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead comprehensive, statewide program.<\/li>\n<li>Perform program management and delivery, engagement, data collection, data and policy development, and reporting.<\/li>\n<li>Verify statewide incentives benefits for WSDOT\u2019s payroll office, review and approve program invoices, manage program expenditures and budgets, and conduct employee engagement.<\/li>\n<li>Measure, analyze, and report\u00a0Transportation Demand Management\u00a0(TDM) program performance to agency leadership, boards, and external partners.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Develop and deliver work plans, budgets, performance measurement plans, tools, policies, and associated documents.<\/li>\n<li>Lead the team that provides modern work environment participation data to WSDOT executive management and the Washington State Office of Financial Management.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Collaboratively engage project partners inside and outside WSDOT.<\/li>\n<li>Provide planning support to other TDM and public transportation efforts, including statewide CTR.<\/li>\n<li>Develop performance targets and develop and deliver work plans and strategies to achieve them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><br \/><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><br \/>To be considered for this opportunity, the following are\u00a0<u>required<\/u>:<br \/>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor&#8217;s degree involving major study in transportation; landscape architecture; environmental or urban, regional, or land use planning; engineering; or public or business administration\u00a0<strong><u>AND<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0three (3) years of professional transportation experience involving analysis and evaluation of transportation issues and problems.
