Chinook is very small and is golden in color with brown spots. \"><\/strong><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><em>Chinook Fry &#8211; Photo Credit: WDFW&nbsp;<\/em><\/div>\n<br>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><em>With that in mind,&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><em>Picture yourself&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong>feeding fish according to pond populations and weight samples.<strong><em>&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><em>This is an opportunity&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong>to assist in identifying all targeted and non-targeted species, gender, stock origin and condition of maturity when trapping and spawning adults.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><em>We are seeking a candidate<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;with demonstrated values matching those of WDFW: Accountability, Service, Professionalism, Integrity, Respect, and Empathy (ASPIRE).<\/p>\n<br>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/dd>\n<dt>\n<h2>Duties<\/h2>\n<\/dt>\n<dd>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Our Fish Hatchery Technician,&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<strong>Performs adult fish handling, fish feeding, pond cleaning, picking out and removing sick and or morbid fish and eggs:&nbsp;<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Empty fish feed into buckets to feed fish. &nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Utilize dip nets, suction hose, and\/or egg pickers for removing morbid fish and eggs from a healthy population.<\/li>\n<li>Help assist with loading juvenile salmon and steelhead into a marking trailer for clipping.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Conducts grounds and equipment maintenance and repair:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cleaning adult handling area, intakes and bar racks, adult fish traps and weirs, hatchery buildings, bathrooms, and vehicles. &nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Operate lawn mower, leaf blower, weed eater, pickup truck, various pumps, and power\/hand tools. &nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Servicing hatchery equipment and making minor repairs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Samples fish and eggs:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Weighing and counting salmon and\/or steelhead eggs or fish to determine the size.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>WORKING CONDITIONS:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Work Setting, including hazards: &nbsp; &nbsp;<\/strong>\n<ol>\n<li>Outside in all weather conditions, typically working outside about 250 days a year.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Repetitively lifting 44 lbs. of&nbsp;fish feed daily and occasionally lifting salt blocks and salt bags weighing 50 lbs. &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Use of respirator and other&nbsp;personal protective equipment (PPE) while working with various chemicals used at facility.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to negotiate water in emergency situations.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Perform strenuous physical activities, follow instructions, and complete assigned tasks, gather and compile data, and use sound judgment.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Schedule: &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong>\n<ol>\n<li>Wednesday &#8211; Sunday, 8:00 a.m. &#8211; 4:30 p.m., schedule will vary based on workload needs.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Some perform 10 days on 4 days off, adjusted by workload.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Travel Requirements:&nbsp;<\/strong>\n<ol>\n<li>Travel as needed to meet work demands.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tools and Equipment: &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong>\n<ol>\n<li>Power and hand tools, lawn care equipment, egg picking machines, passenger vehicles, Coded Wire Tag (CWT) identification equipment, trash pumps, pressure washers, diesel generators, small gas engines, computers, and software.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Customer Interactions:&nbsp;<\/strong>\n<ol>\n<li>Communicate effectively with public and volunteers.
