Recommend best management practices to avoid, reduce or eliminate impacts to fish life.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate participation and discussion of project proposals with other agency personnel to assess project compliance with agency policies and the impact to fish and wildlife habitat.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct project compliance and monitor field reviews during and after construction.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><em>&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Provide biological expertise to the Department of Natural Resources for Forest Practice activities:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Provide provisions for the protection of fish life using the Forest Practice Hydraulic Permit (FPHP) concurrence review process.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with the review and development of wildlife plans associated with forest practice applications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><em>&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Provide, review and comment on County or City Critical Area Ordinances, and the Shoreline Master Program as authorized under the Growth Management Act (GMA) and Shoreline Management Act (SMA):<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide written comments to local government planning staff during the land use decision-making process as part of the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA), Shoreline Management Plan, and Critical Area Ordinance.<\/li>\n<li>Assist City and County planners and the public in interpreting and using Priority Habitats and Species (PHS) management recommendations and mapping.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>WORKING CONDITIONS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li><strong>Work Setting, including hazards:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Work is performed in an office and outdoor environment.<\/li>\n<li>Fieldwork will require working in remote forested and aquatic environments under inclement weather conditions and operating vehicles in off-road driving conditions.<\/li>\n<li>Position requires navigating rough terrain for short distances (less than 1 mile) regularly, and occasionally over long distances (several miles).<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to negotiate water in emergency situations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Schedule:<\/strong>\n<ul type=\"circle\">\n<li>Incumbent may work a flexible work schedule subject to supervisory approval.&nbsp;Work hours may exceed the standard 8:00 A.M. \u2013 5:00 P.M. workday.<\/li>\n<li>Office and field work vary seasonally. Wildlife management or wildlife research.
